You can get the accantara on the blue gt not sure why it's not a available on the gti

Personally it would have to be the Black Alcantara @ the £955 because the Cloth Fabric really is gash.

I have the brochure, as I went to view it. It is available as an option on the gti. But they have the trademark gti upholstery as standard. But alcantara is available as option on the gti.

It wasn't on configurator the last time I looked -about a week ago.

Will now have to visit a showroom with a demo or get a brochure posted to me.

Or Request a Configurator update!

SORRY! Just checked Configurator and it has been update. Brain not in gear today - Friday P.M. and weekend looming!!

The Polo GTI i was in was wearing the Black Alcatara,

and the configurator shows 'Titan Black Alcatara.'  no sign of Blue.

....................

I see dealers advertising a new Polo GTI 1.8TSI 3 Door for around £2000 more asking price than

Used Demonstrator Polo GTI 1.4 TSI GTI are advertised at.

Are there any 2015 Demonstrator 1.8TSI with DSG advertised anyplace?

George, just phoned 3 large dealerships within 25 miles radius to me ,not a demo or showroom car to be found.

Very poor response/knowledge to when one would be available.

So VW how many Polo GTI'S will be registered and or sold in March 2015.

How many are in the showrooms near you?

Who has ordered one, lets see the numbers./spec.

Manual or DSG?

so is there alcantara or not it's not in the brochure. Demo in lookers Preston.

Dealer principle told me that VW were prioritizing customer cars over dealer cars at present hence the lack of demo cars. They actually had a 64 plate black 3dr, they obtained it from another dealer and sold it before it came of the transporter.

The boot is fairly small in the gti, apparently the battery is in the boot to help with weight distribution

Picked up a brochure last Saturday. It is definitely an option. It's in both the brochure and price list. Gti can have standard tartan sports seats or alcantara sports seats.

Nic Cackett might be right but he should maybe go back and read what he wrote back when reviewing the 2010 Polo GTI 1.4 TSI.

Bit different then but i suppose as he was reviewing the sister car to the Seat & Skoda then he could not totally pan the most expensive car.

I really like the idea of the GTi but I haven't had a drive of one yet.

My favourite small hot hatch by far is the Fiesta ST. For me a hot hatch is about two main things - fun with a level of practicality. The only two downsides to the ST (for me) are the fact its only available in 3 door (when other markets get the five door!) and its slightly firm ride and lower speed primary bump absorption abilities - the second one I think is slightly unfair to level at it due to what it actually is and does but I can imagine the Polo could potentially be a great (a better?) all rounder day in and day out and of course it can have five doors which adds a far bigger level of practicality if you have kids. Wondering just how far off the pace of the ST it would be with a small arb upgrade.. Just that's just how my mind works...! Finally, it has the wonderful EA888 1.8 TSi. Stage one mapped, the two compared in outright ps and torque terms - the GTi would urinate over what the 1.6 ecoboost could achieve. Sometimes the underdog has valuable real life qualities - the GTi cold be that underdog.

re post #60 & the Battery in the Boot.

The Battery was is in the boot of the 2010-2014 VW Polo GTI 1.4 TSI 180 ps.

& yes it gives better weight balance, & space in the Engine Compartment.

(handy for a different after market Air Intake)

But what they did was not fit a Spare Wheel as standard, so then the 'Kerb Weight'  could be 20kg lower,

because you had to buy the 'Optional'  Battery Cover & Spare wheel to fit over the Battery,

So the Battery really does not use room.

Oddly or as expected,

Skoda did not put the Battery in the Boot of the Fabia vRS Hatch with the same Engine, Gearbox, Mechanicals, suspension etc.

No they Fitted a Spare Wheel as Standard which is lovely,

But no Battery under the Spare Wheel.

In their wisdom they Designed & Manufactured 25kg Ballast Weights and bolted these to the rear crash bar.

This made the vRS Hatch 45 kg Heavier than need have been, allowed then to say the Hatch was 5 kg heavier than the vRS Estate,

& also Heavier than the Seat Ibiza Cupra, Seat Ibiza FR 150 ps DSG, Polo GTI, & Audi A1 185 ps 5 Door.

They also fitted 205/40 R 17 Tyres on the Skoda & 215/40 R 17 tyres on the Others,

& they were all a VED class lower except the Seat until the Seat was face lifted in 2013, same CTHE then as the Revised Skoda,

Still Heavier, but put down a VED Class.

VORSPRUNG DURCH TECHNIK

Always be sure the more expensive car looks faster, lighter or more economic or people buying the more expensive ones might feel ripped off.

the VWG are very Green.

With miss handling Audi TT's they had to add weights to sort out the Dangerous Handling,

but that was after they were Built Sold & on the roads,  a Modification.

But Factory Engineers did this to a Skoda Warm Hatch before they were on Sale rather than Engineering

the Suspension Correctly, Springs and Dampers at no Extra cost,

Just maybe a better handling and lighter car.

Just a question,  not the start of a rumour or internet myth, but,

The 1.8 TSI is in the Audi with S-Tronic already but with less power from the engine than the new Polo GTI.

?

Has anyone heard of any Software Issues with the 1.8TSI DSG 2015 Polo GTI that might be causing delays with them.?

Like happened when the Audi A1 185 TFSI S-Tronic was being Launched in the UK back in 2011.

Has the New Polo GTI 1.8TSI DSG got Stop / Start in the UK & Right Hand Drive cars?

Stop/start function is shown as standard, on the Configurator drop down, under the feature list and driver assistance.

Liking this car more and more, might be the ideal replacement for the missus' Fabia vRS MK2, when the time and deal is right. DSG for her.

Unless Skoda Fabia mk3 vRS appears.

Hope the dog will fit it, on the odd occasion - no problem in the vRS. COULD BE A DEAL CLINCHER.

I really am looking forward to the likes of NIC CACKETT taking a 2010-2014 Polo 1.4 TSI GTI with a minimum 180 ps up Against a 2015 Polo GTI 1.8TSI minimum 192 ps DSG

and Weighing them, and then lets see the actual 0-62, 30-70, 0-70, 0-100 mph times.

A back to back test, or side by side test is surely easily enough to arrange, and VW can easily provide the 2 cars,

they must be keen to show how well the New & Cheaper car will out perform the one they were selling just a short while ago.

So really just a comparison to see how much better the New GTI actually is for performance,

and how much go there is without having to stoke up the RPM or redline it to get a shift on.

Its great that the new 1.8TSI is not going to have the issues that VW had with getting 180-185 ps Minimum from

a 1390cc 1.4 TSI / TFSI Dual Charge engine.

Lets hope now that 'WHAT CAR',  Auto Express, AUTOCAR and others can now ask the VW Senior Management if they will acknowledge

Why there were so many failures from 2009-2015 with the engines they built.

...........................

I am not a Polo fan for interior comfort, but really like a A1 Seating Postition.

This seems to be the answer to an Upgrade from a Twincharger for anyone wanting an Automatic with the 1.8TSI engine.

I'm considering one of these - classier than a Fiesta ST (I might still go with the ST as they're available considerably cheaper than the Polo - the interior of the Fiesta is a bit cluttered and I find sitting in a Fiesta slightly claustrophobic).
