I've bought a Dash Cam.......

Featured Replies

Right this is not a tread for saying " You should have bought this " or " you should have bought that" After reading many reviews and watching youtube videos I bought a  " e prance 0801 with GPS " excellent product for the money and it Ideal for my needs.

Right, when It arrives it'll need hard wiring in to my car. I'm after someone nearby to hard wire it in for me please, any takers? ( cash, beer or wine as payment )

Big thanks to Fubar who pointed me in the right direction and offered some great advice.

Just to Add the Mobius models came in a close second but I ordered a e prance instead.

Thanks to all

Looking forward to seeing if your driving lives up to your rhetoric Andy. ;-)

You should have bought that

I'd have happily given you a hand if you were closer. One word of caution - check that it doesn't affect your DAB reception before you wire it in for good. Had an 0805 which had to go back because I lost most stations once it was turned on.

If you follow one of the guides on here it's quite simple to hardwire.

I'd do it if you were (a lot) closer.

20-30 minutes tops for a front camera.

You really can't go wrong: RED for live feed, with BLACK for earth.

Thanks for the Tip Doc, if it does affect the Dab I'll stick it in the Wifes CityGo.

I had an ePrance camera that had to go back for the same reasons, EM leakage from the charger.

Affected FM for me.

This was at the top of my short-list as well, let us know how did you find it

Where's 'nearby'?

Mmmmmm  It's arrived but I'm a bit stuck. Everey thing looks ok, nice piece of kit but I can't get it to record. The screen just says " Card as sent "it has a built in Card.

There is a slot to add more storage or can be used to copie to another card.  I think the problem might be thats it's not Mac Compatible and needs a PC to format the card before It can record.  ( No PC's in this house ) The Instruction booklet is a bit vauge to be honest

Any thoughts Chaps??

Manual is usually in the finest Chinglish.

Try searching for a Techmoan review on it. He's done most of them, might give you some hints.

All is well, I was under the impression the Dash Cam came with a built in Memory Card, well it didn't, fitted a Micro Sim and all is well. Works, good quality footage.

Just needs wiring up permanently

Well chuffed

This is the Dash Cam

I didn't pay the price displayed though, bit cheaper

I'm looking at ordering one of these dash cams next week, any tips on where I should buy it from 'a bit cheaper'?  :D

I got mine off Amazon, there's loads of places on there, I got mine for £54 + £3 postage.

That is the dash cam I have, have a look in the O3 section, I did a bit of a write up on the fitting in the big dash can thread.  Was really easy once you have the piggy back fuse and additional 12v socket!!

My fee? A cuppa on arrival & another on completion. Tea, two sugars!

Hmm, too bad you don't live in southern Sweden! I would easily have thrown in an extra sugar or two ... ;-)

Have a nice day!

If you're going through Amazon make sure it's at least "Fulfileld by Amazon". They pay a bit more attention to problems when they are in the supply chain.

Harrogate

Ah, that's handy then :) I have a box of parts to wire it in with as I fit them for people, if you still need a hand.

What are you like at lowering the Glove box to get to the Fuse box.  Don't really need a hand  I need someone to do it   when It comes to Electrics/removing trims etc I'm a complete loss. Technical stuff isn't my line of work, I only drive Trains If they go wrong I'm on the blower to Technical help.

Are you free any time, I could pop over.  Do I need to get any thing or do you have every thing required?

Ps, just to add if I did it the chances are my car would go up in flames    :notme:
