Right, I'm now a little more confused than before (prolly getting just as confused as most skoda dealers regarding available options on vrs )

fab16v, you said you're getting a furby vrs with xenons, and that's a factory fit ?

I asked my dealer about it, and after talking to skoda UK, they say it is not available.

I asked him about a special custom order, and that's a no no.

I can get all the other official options - parking sensors, sunroof, side airbags, cruise control - but that then makes it a factory order and so I would have it by end december, but not before (nice xmas treat )

So, how the hell did you manage to get xenons? I'm really really curious

Any others have any insight, please let me know.

My dealer was told that they were available and had the accessory codes for them. Looked it up on the Skoda network system and found one yellow one with them (mine) and 2 black ones. One with cruise control and the other with almost every concievable extra including passenger airbag switching facility. He couldn't find any others on the system as current or future. Perhaps they are just a few that have managed to slip through the net! :confused:

Will have to check the light beam pattern when I get mine to make sure they are uk spec lights.

I was told that Skoda had just recently decided to allow the dealers to sell cars with xenons, but must have headlamp washers too.

Fraid I can't help any more than that. Sorry mate. :(

Was actually very lucky with mine as it was meant to be going to another dealer, but we managed to prise it away from them with some sweet talk from my dealers. Apparently would have had to wait till next year if I still wanted yellow with xenons and couldn't get hold of this one.

I'll keep you posted with any more news I hear!

If I could ask a HUGE favour: could you find out the skoda code for it so I can query my dealer with it.

Also, I'm after a black one with xenons and cruise, and from your post it sounds like your dealer saw exactly the one on the "network"...

May I ask where your dealer is? If he's not the other side of the country, I may make a trip and have a chat with him, saying that he comes recommended!

tfboy, move fast if you want that Fabia! You wouldn't believe how fast some items sell on/or because of this forum. If someone else is looking for the same model and spec you could find yourself gazumped before you even pick up the phone. :(

Nice one mate. Who did you speak to? The guy I usually deal with wasn't in when I went in yesterday, so the other salesman photocopied my drivers licence and left it on his desk. I didn't want to ask him for the dealer codes for xenons/headlamp washers.

The primary option codes list for the Fabia includes:

8JE.....halogen twin headlight units with gas discharge lamp - rhd

8X1.....headlight washer system

There is one black vRS being built this week, so ready to pick up in 3-4 weeks equipped with:

- metallic paint (black magic)

- 6cd autochanger

- passenger airbad disabling with key

- xenon lights

But the thing I really want is c/c and considering I'd prolly change the stereo head unit, I wouldn't want to go for this one 'cos I'm spending over

My slightly un-standard 1.4 16v is famous it seems! :p Paul is very helpful and will do almost anything to help you get what it is you are after. We spent nearly half an hour trying to find a Yellow xenon equiped furby.

Now I have to start all over again with the vRS. Oh life is difficult!

Found out that the other furby doesn't have exactly what I need: xenon, passenger airbag disabling option and a six cd changer, but no cruise...

He did a search on the system, and that was it for the time being, so it looks like a custom factory order if I want that, in which case it'll be end dec / beg jan by the time I get it.

Just popped into Jackson's in Basingstoke (I work just round the corner from there) and he wasn't aware of Xenon's being an option. Looks like I'll have to walk around with those part numbers Denis knew

Im new on the forum and am currently looking around related boards because last week I ordered a Fabia vRS, black with xenon lights.

Just thought I would confirm that my experience has been almost exactly the same. First dealer I visited had no demonstrator and stated that xenons as options were being removed from all Skoda's.

Tried another dealer 2 weeks ago - gave me a 60 mile test drive and spent ages stock searching. At that point there was already limited availabiltiy of cars save fully loaded ones. When i ordered the car on Tue last week there were no black cars with only xenon until week 46 production, one of which is reserved as mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! however delivery, coz of Christmas etc wont be till Jan.

Dealer is currently got a silver car with xenons scheduled for week 45 and he is trying to get the colour changed.

He told me that xenons and sunroofs are proving the most popular options.

Cannot wait, but as per the prev poster this is a car I really want, so I will wiat to get it exactly as I want it. My delaer has 9 standard colours available (as of last week) but several have been sold and several are october build.

Hey week46, welcome mate. This definately is the place for Skoda information. Just phoned my local dealer 2 mins ago saying I want a black magic with cruise and xenons, and he's still a bit unsure about it all - he checked it with Skoda UK and as far as they're concerned, xenons aren't an option.

So I've given him the part numbers Denis dug out (:cheers: mate!) and he's gonna try and get one ordered for me and will ring me back this afternoon to let me know.

More mis-information than that isn't possible methinks!

This thing with the lights is wierd, and I have to say somewhat irritating!! Is this a normal thing with Skoda UK?

Funny thing is, the 1st dealer I tried told me xenons definately wernt an option. When on my test drive with the other dealer I mentioned my concerns about it and questioned VAG UK's attitude as they dont offer things like xenon for the Ibiza/Leon either - but they do in Europe, and all the LHD Fabias had xenons. He then told me they had just learnt that Skoda were offering them on the Fabia as they had managed to order one. He then went on to the Skoda web ordering system and showed me them. I saw it with my own eyes on Skoda comp - coz the lights themselves are

Yes I am having trouble convincing my wife about the vrs due to the badge. She wants a Mini, but only 75hp, poor basic spec, options list the size of a phone book, to get Mini D with a decent spec is about 13 - 14K no discount. The Fabia is so much better value. Which Car website states the target price to try to buy a vrs is
