Might interest some. Would suit my SWMBO but she'd never go for it. Plus it would take us a week to get it back from Hull :D

I have seen a couple of deals on the Leaf recently but none this good.
Only a £129 deposit (although technically £282 after you add on the PCP fee they charge).
£129 a month for 2 years for a brand new 15 plate Visia+ Leaf (the model with the alloys, sat nav, bluetooth, aircon).
After the 2 years you just give the car back.

The price goes up to
£138 for 7000 miles a year or
£142 per month for 8000 miles a year.
Sorry i don't know any higher, I never asked.

These is not the flex model so no extra payments for the battery.

This is from Trenton Garage in Hull. The car must be registered before end of March.

Giving a "Plug in" or Hybrid some serious thought at the moment. Due to my mileage being very low and around town.

I spend about twice that on fuel a month. VERY interesting...

Might be of interest to some people - it discusses the extra mileage prices.

For 15k per year, it's £4776 for the next model up from the Visa for the 24 months. Almost cheaper than just the fuel cost on my 330d... (Although I'd keep it for holidays/long distance trips, so the insurance/tax etc. would still be payable)

Id go for the Tesla......none of the others.Ack

Elise lookalike stunning......

TBH if I needed a second cheap car, I would get one of these deals on the Leaf, Fugly or not!

The car basically pay for itself with the fuel you can save :)

Not what driving is about though,is it ;-) lol

Not to me anyway.Want noise,fun,aesthetics:-)

Agree, I only have the one car, currently a Golf 7R.

However if I needed a set of cheap second wheels for scooting about town. The cheap Leaf deal would be ideal :) Fortunately I don't need one, lol :D

Hah!

There are some crazy lease deals on these at present. There's a thread on Speak ev forum with details of the dealers doing the offers.

You can get top spec model with £1k deposit for under £150 per month for 2 years. 8k miles

I pay a bit more to do 10k miles.

Wit the fuel I save it actually costs me very little. It's a really nice car to drive. I've kept my 240hp Fabia for longer trips / having fun in!

I looked at getting a leaf but my man maths couldn't make the numbers work. I think you need to be doing quite a lot of miles PA to make it work.

I think for most the idea is the money saved on the daily can be spent on fun cars.

Please bear in mind this is the Visia version which has the inefficient heater from the 2011 model.

So in winter your range gets crucified.

It's cheap for a reason.  Figure a 50-55 mile range when it's frosty outside unless you like driving around in many layers with a wooly hat on.

That's one trip.

If you do two trips with the car cooling down between you might get 45-50 miles out of a full charge.

The Acenta and Tekna spec car have a far more efficient heat pump giving a 70 mile range driven the same way in winter.

And the range issues when cold is exactly why the heat pump was designed for the 2013 model cars, but for some reason they left the old unit on the base spec.

That's terrible!

Sorry for using this thread but just to save starting a new one.

?

Has anyone any experience of the Vauxhall Zoe, talking prices with dealers, road testing etc.?

Has anyone any experience of the Vauxhall Zoe,

Vauxhall?! ;)

Vauxhall?! ;)

The Renault Zoe isn't as good as the LEAF IMO.

Also the dealers sell hardly any so aren't as clued up and Nissan does better discounts.

What is wrong, is it my spelling of Vauxhall or even some Skoda or even Nissan owners having badge snobbery.

BossFox,

Did you try out the Zoe before acquiring Leafs or since, road testing one or more so have experienced driving them?

& Are you still running Leafs,  how old and with how many miles covered on them?

No, its the fact it isn't a Vauxhall, its a Renault!

Although, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't touch a Vauxhall with a barge pole. ;)

DOH,  sorry,

i would have been at the wrong dealers, i was thinking it was Adams sister.

Thats good because i have a better local Renault Dealer than the Vauxhall one.

Loads of Electric charging points & free energy and it seems rude not to use them.

I tried the Zoe but just didn't like it.

It's smaller than the LEAF, but not cheaper once you look at discounts and the Renault garages just don't have the knowledge of the car that Nissan do.

The easiest way to sum it up from my impressions would be that Nissan are pushing to sell as many EVs as they can.

Renault just want to sell a few to keep the powers that be happy.

Yes we are still running LEAFs.

Currently we have four.

Because of the discount and tax incentives there is no reason to keep them long term.

Which I think it the governments's plan as it means a steady stream of one and two year old cars onto the second hand market at knock down prices for private buyers.

But at 10k miles we've seen no battery loss at all.

On the LEAF forum they seem to lose around 10-15% battery capacity at 50,000 miles if used a fair bit.

I think i will try to find a Dealer that has knowledge from running or supplying them if my local one has not.

Obviously if a Nissan Dealer has not sold or run them their selves, they might have not much knowledge from actual use,

just from Training or reading on them.

thanks.

I see the Nissan Leaf is available in all 3 Spec with the Motability Scheme lease which might suit some.,

i had not considered that before.

I was at a local IKEA the other week. Chanced upon the parking spaces with electric charging points. 50% of them were taken up by a petrol Ford Fiesta.

Saw a Leaf and a Tesla being charged in adjacent spaces in Kensington over Xmas. Those coiled leads look ripe for the odd sociopath with rubber gloves and bolt cutters to commit some meaningless vandalism. A change from jumping on cars, mangling wipers, tyre slashing and keying paintwork. All popular past times if you believe the local papers especially when Buckfast tonic wine has been ingested. :notme:

I took a peek at this George, but my simpleton's maths made Motability look like a very expensive option compared to the deals Aspman's highlighted.

I could be missing something.
