What is the easiest car you have had for washing, polishing regularly.?

Featured Replies

I am just interested in others experiences.

So i really mean newer cars, say 2005 on.

Easy to give a quick wash and brush up to,

Polish or Wax without needing to get the product out cracks and crevices.

Bugs do not get stuck in Grills and around number plates.

I am not talking full on Valeting or Detaling here.

Just after a long trip what is easy to spend 15-30 minutes to stop looking dirty?

My easiest was a Toyota iQ.

But even though the car was tiny,

there was still annoying bits of trim.

A Nissan Quashqai i find quick and easy,

but that has lots to do with lower plastic cladding that is quick and easy to make look clean.

Many Honda are rather simple to care for easily.

BMW MINI's were easy but getting to take longer as they build more bits of bling in.

The front of the Ford Focus RS 2016 looks like it will be a right PITA.

Fiat 500 most of panels are flat and water runs off easy.

Oh and it's the same size as a shoe

My old Smart car. Fun to drive, easy to park and washing it was almost too easy. I genuinely miss that car.

Any car with a hard paint finish.  in our case, our 55 plate Merc 220 estate whilst large, was the easiest.  A quick wash brought it up like showroom most times and only rarely did it need polishing.  I've found any car we've owned with softer paint finishes have needed more attention.

My Mk1 Fabia is relatively easy due to it's size.

Much easier than cleaning the bosses Rang Rover Vogue, who thought putting two chrome grills on a car would be a good idea !? That is before I get onto the size of the thing.

It has to be the grills and 'crevices' as you say George that make things difficult. Panels no matter of shape size or slope are reasonably easy to wash. But front bumpers with all of their fog lights and styling take forever.

Cappuccino Gold Roomster was the easiest, quick to wash/wax but rarely needing it as the colour, although boring, didn't show any dirt. I cannot recall any of the others being any worse than each other, although the black Punto was a sod to keep clean due to the colour and to some the Yeti might be bad due to its height, but I'm about 2m tall so no problem to me.

The current one washes down so easily and the Citigo before it. The worst was the Omega estate, it was like washing a black battleship.

Swmbos micra small and looks really good once clean

What do you class as regular? :D . None of my cars have posed too much of a problem to clean as they only tended to get done every few months. The green algae on the window rubbers is usually the sign that perhaps I should get on with it. :notme:

My MX-5 :sun:

Incredibly easy and quick to clean

Re, 'Regular'.

I would consider as going for a trip of blast any time, maybe a Weekend away,

back late and next morning you have to go someplace with a clean/smart car.

Maybe to a funeral, so a 2 bucket job and a squirt with a hose.

****. Is that what that means?!

My BMW Mini Cooper S was an easy car to detail

anything that wasn't feckin black.

Black cars are hell to clean.

I'm not into modern stuff, so 1989 Toyota camry in a medium grey metallic. It never looked dirty. It would sit gleaming away, but if you ran your finger down it, it would come off black.

Really, OH's Clubman was a total PITA.

Current 107 is a doddle though.

The Gigaros are certainly the easiest alloys I've had to clean!

I have the Cappucino beige on my Roomy,it changes colour hourly with the light conditions, fantastic colour IMHO.It only ever shows dirt lightly on the lower panels below the door rubbing strips. As for cleaning it, the short bonnet is much appreciated by my knackered shoulder, its a short reach from top to bottom and side to side, making it really easy to get a good shine on it without having to stretch or lean into it heavily. The lack of sharp edges and quality of panel fit and shut lines also is a bonus, nothing for cleaning cloths to snag on.

Apart from the Roomster my Saab Combi was next easiest, good solid paintwork,I never struggled to get a showroom standard shine, even when it was 10 years old.

Four multi spoke alloys can take as long as the rest of the car to clean, I stay away from those like the plague :sun:

Gigaros are a nightmare , have to remove them to do them properly

Lunas were the best ones i had, i specced them on the superb for that reason :)

My old focus st170 in grey was pretty easy to clean (compared to black oct VRS combo anything is i guess though) - but the ST170 wheels, were a nightmare.

My red series 2 escort rs turbo came up well with a quick hose down also - mind you back in the day my old skool detailing mean't it had been 'colour magic'd' to death.

My Bravo was nice and easy to clean too. No complicated curves on any of the panels, and the whole roof was glass.

This was by far the easiest to clean:

The flat "industrial primer" paint looked exactly the same no matter how clean/dirty it was so a very easy decision not to bother polishing it etc lol.
