A thread for car chat

Featured Replies

There's a chap on the VXR forum who I've met at a rolling road session.  He's got a VXR8 GTS with the Tom Walkinshaw magic sprinkled here and there.  It was running about 690bhp when I saw the car and sounds very nice indeed,

Skip to about 1m3s and enjoy the rest of the clip, especially the gear change at 1m47s.

Have you heard it? They sound very nice and are super easy to tune as they have a nice big supercharger. We used to change the pulleys on them for a modest charge of course :) Funnily enough the HD version is detuned  from the Lightning model :( although it sounds slightly better :).

Not heard it, it's David Beckhams old one.

he probably bought it from Bauer Millet then as it was only a couple of miles from Man Utd and we used to sell regularly to the players (typically they all wanted huge black SUVs)

I don't like the mods :( Harleys are about bling and chrome and stuff. The wheels don't work for me at all

I'm sure a man like yourself with his motoring press connections could sort that :)

Here is a car of interest. It belonged to a now disgraced former BBC presenter. Oh and that's me in the reflection. I should add that my coat makes me look a lot wider than I am, it's because I have my arms up, honest :D

My workmate turned up yesterday in his 1970 dodge challenger, with the 440 (7.2litre v8) engine! Truly awesome.

His mate Kev then turned up at the end of the day in his Monaro, which has an exhaust fitted too.

I was grinning like an idiot watching them drive down the estate

I have some crude video of a moment in Manchester where we stopped at a set of lights and the workmen on a building nearby stood at the roofs edge and cheered us on to rev it. It was seriously loud although the 12 year old video doesn't really convey the sound, you can hear the cheers though :) I'll see if I can host it somewhere.

Saw a Plymouth Prower today, Not seen one in ages, they still look amazing!!! Sound OK too :) As I recall you can't open the doors properly because they foul on the Chassis or some part of the car that can't be removed :D
