Baiting not a good quality imo!

Let your topic run.

And that topic is to "drivel on about cars"  and not go OT on other peoples threads. Not inflammatory at all Keith :dull:

One vehicle I've always been impressed by (realistic dream motor) is the Rover 3500 P6 although having previously had a P4 out here I've got a serious soft spot for classic British vehicles, P6 or a Capri look to be the next project

Was the P6 the one that Grace Kelly crashed in? It (or some Rover?) was wrongly blamed for her crash, although history seems to show she had a stroke at the wheel

On the subject of random cars, here is one I was lucky enough to drive briefly before it was sold

00:09 and 00:18 it's just iconic. A BDA and a forest were just made for each other!

What was the red open wheeled thing that sounded very Formula something?!

A few years ago, a taxi driver in Gothenburg showed my a you tube clip of an 850 on a dyno. I think it was this guy, but haven't found the clip, yet...the laughter is somewhat manic.

Here it is. Bonkers. He built the engine from a D5 apparently, this is testing at 3.2bar.

I work with a chap who used to drive works supported Escorts back in the day. He seemed a quite unimposing man who wouldn't say boo to a goose. Then one day he causally showed us a picture of him at the wheel, 3 feet in the air going through Grisdale!! He instantly became a God to us all.

Rob those Escorts bellowing and barking through the woods are fabulous. It's a shame that 4 cylinder engines don't sound like that anymore. :(

It was awesome to hear so many classic race cars doing the hill climb circuit. The Castrol coloured Escort at 0:32 was the loudest thing there apart from the dragster!

Amazing sounds.

The red car was this:

Blummin' heck Rob, I knew you keep modding your Octy, but it's unrecognisable now! I like :)  I'm working at one of the polling stations on election night (not for the polling station itself) over here and I would so love to turn up in that :D

love that truck, remind me of the spitfire engined Bel air that someone did!

It was also done to look like a american WW2 fighter.

I think it looks like the car that ate Rob's Octy!! :peek:

Oo, chunky!

It doesn't look so chunky from most angles. I think it's just the camera distortion

As they sang in Grease, tell us more.

Petrol or DERV, 2 or 4 wd, Auto or manual. ?

:D Do you just have one car these days?

Our Mazda had to have its starter motor repaired the other day. 267,000km on the clock so I can't complain when mechanical components wear out occasionally.

it's derv 4x4. Very nice gearbox, comfy. Incredible spec! Even got adaptive cruise control :o Funny headlights though. Full LED but the flashing bit is done by halogens 3.5 hours of haggling to get the price more of less where I wanted it

Well this morning I had 2 cars, then I had 1 car, but as I have 2 cars coming I sort of have 3 in a virtual way. I no longer know what I'm doing. It looks like after being on the road for nearly 4weeks I get one day off to go home, do my washing pack for the next job and set off all on that same day, oh and collect and sort out the paperwork on 2 cars (which are about 10 miles away from where I live). I am seriously deranged :(

Busy!

I really want a project car. But current financial situation says no.

Must be patient.

Anyway talking of cars we watched 2 Fast 2 Furious last night (like veryone else we're re-watching them all). How did they get a sequel approved after that one? I remember it being silly but not that bad!
