The one they did on Wheeler Dealers recently was interesting. A bit contrived, but I loved some of the details. The rust scored window badge was inspired :)

  • Jason Statham impresses me with his high kicks. He trained originally as a dancer apparently.   What do you make of this? Fascinating I thought:

  • Holdens are common around here.

btw, did anyone guess who owned the BMW Z3 above. Famous North West based presenter, now serving a prison sentence.

nobody, OK here's the answer

He owned a travel agents called

Stuart Hall International Travel.

No kidding! He changed it after his acronym was spotted by the press.

I do like the Rat Rod look, only works on some cars though, there was some really interesting cars so to speak:

Speaking to the owner, MK1 Mexico escort for the rear fenders, Isuzu engine, shogun front axle and Trooper rear axle...and various fence posts as chassis poles!

This was a very much rat rodded VW beetle:

I see a Beetle near me often, similar rat rod treatment, although it doesn't sound like it has a Porsche engine in it, or anything special

Btw love the woody look in your first pic :)

There were a couple of Vans running the Porsche engine there, like the really slammed look on VW vans as well.

Woody, do you mean the green one?

Thats another mish mash, running a BMW straight six

Sorry meant the fence posts :D Takes Woody to a new level :D

For a V8, it would have to be a CityCab from the Judge Dredd film.

Built by Dunsfold on Landrover 101 chassis and sold off after the film.

Bound to get you noticed. :)

Were they the ones that looked a bit like the prototype Land Rover Defender replacements they sketched last year?

  • Author

Ha ha, it is certainly not the car I was thinking of

it does have presence though :D

I was thinking of the more recent Dredd film and was trying to place the vehicle, can't actually remember seeing the 1994 film!

There's one of them in Gaydon as well. Apparently, they're a **** to drive as the seat is fixed, and they don't all have doors as such.

But you could park anywhere you wanted. Who would dare stop you :)

This thing was impressive. So many small details.

Like the pics Rob, you seemed to have better weather then us for the Hot Rod show!

Again the attention to detail that goes into these cars is awesome

When I started at Bauer Millet they gave me this as a daily driver. It was horrible. It had a weedy V6 and handled like as well as a juggling camel

Still not bad as a company car, more interesting then a lot of cars on the road!

Trust me it was horrible and as it was extremely long, I couldn't hide it anywhere. Terribly slow, made a naff noise and smelt a bit odd too :( if it had been the V8 I might have liked it better

Ok another attempt to get Fabdav to post his thoughts on the M135 in here so that we may go seriously off topic

Please feel free to post your thoughts in here Fabdav

Now lets talk about cars......

One vehicle I've always been impressed by (realistic dream motor) is the Rover 3500 P6 although having previously had a P4 out here I've got a serious soft spot for classic British vehicles, P6 or a Capri look to be the next project

The yellow capri in my pics is my friends one, taken 4 years to get to that stage, lots of rust when taken off the road

I sold mine last year, we had a love/hate relationship, the more love I gave it the more it seemed to hate me. The final straw was drive it day when I had no navigator on a "gentle"  road run. The guys I was with went Off Piste on the organised route as one crew remembered a section they competed in during the 1970's British rally Championship. 8 (yes eight) mpg later................ I'm sure we went through a farmyard at one point. They are interesting to work on, over engineered,  and designed by engineers who didn't intend to work on them, in fact if I met them I'd snap their pencils. Long, thin, with not much cabin room, after 4yrs I'd had enough, but it did well as I have a 3yr rule on changing my classic cars. (except the Mk1 Escort which has been in the family for 20 odd yrs. )
