pretty much the answer i was expecting to be honest...

I hope he gets it back, but i'd be very surprised if that happens :(

An interesting take on the 'Was it you?' feature of Briskoda.

Was it you... doing 65 in reverse over those bollards in an attempt to ram raid Morris Bywaters in Chorley? I waved but you seemed preoccupied...

Seriously, it's been said a million times on this site. Going for the keys is the preferred route for any toe rag who fancies your motor. Think where you're leaving them each night when you get in from work.

I tie my keys to the wife so if the car goes - she goes - seems reasonable to me..............................

but seriously, (OK I was being serious) never leave your keys lying anywhere or even in the key cabinet on your hall/kitchen wall. I hide mine in a very unobvious place.

Chris

ps Paul, don't blame 'religion', that's where you might lose your car keys but get the keys to Heaven..........(end of post JF)

pps - at least the little sinners went to church!

ppps or is this the ultimate excuse for dodging a ticket?

:D :D :D

But then,if like one of my customers -- you hide your key's with you in your bedroom -- Villains smash in the front door - come upstairs and threaten you at gunpoint to handover keys !!!

One of the area reps for Audi was driving a Bright Yellow S3 -- he got home one night, was confronted by three guy's -- they demanded the keys -- he said if you want them go get them,so doing he threw them into the wood at the side of his house -- but rather than go to get them or run off -- they beat seven bells out of him -- 3 broken ribs, broken arm, broken wrist 2 black eyes and 4 days in hospital !!

By the way thats not a prozac blister...

Dave, but the S3 stayed in the drive?? Let's be positive here..................................

Chris

ps The little Semtex seat adjuster might work in these circumstances, hmmm....................

I don't think that "sinners" is exactly the word I would have chosen ;)

ffelan, wasn't 'sliver' that film with Sharon Stone in??

There might be a case for getting APR and Jabba to add a 'disable' function to the chip so that it can be remotely switched off within a reasonable distance, like just after the toe-rags have driven down the street.

i believe this very thing can be done with some of the newer gps tracking thingumebobs.

will also be mulling over whether or not to get the security lockout module on the APR as it renders the ecu disabled and the car totally undriveable. mind you, if some lowlife scum want my car, they can have it as i won't be risking mine or my family's safety for what is, in the end, a piece of insured property.

I've just been browsing the Forge/Revo site and though I didn't read about it in any real detail they mention some sort of anti-theft/disabling thingummy.

Huck, I totally agree. At the end of the day (don't you just hate that!) it is an insured metal thing on four wheels.

Some of you may disagree.

If they really want it let them have it, there is no point risking yourself or your family for a car. Re: the S3. If I was confronted by three blokes wanting my car keys I'd hand them over. I love the whole Skoda RS thing but **** that, it's a car! That sort of thing takes real 'front' and three against one or three against you and your wife is not good.

On the other hand, these scrotes who put fishing rods through your letter box or just try the back door on the off chance it's open (it happened to me), well, I'd happily break all their fingers.:D

I presume that Plod exerted the same energy in apprehending the assailants as they would have if the S3 had been doing 55mph in a 30??

Yes...........I bet (not)

........About the same amount of effort they put into recovering our company Nissan 200SX.

Bog All!

Phil:(

Sorry to hear this Paul.

Must avoid merseyside for a while, so i dont get confused with this car :((03 vrs estate also in silver, apr remap as of next week).

Debated getting the security feature, but decided against it simply because the car is insured, and i'll get another one (hopefully) if it is stolen. I believe some insurance companies were not paying out for the car if the keys had gone? Hopefully this has been rectified now.

I used to carry a 24" torque wrench in my old scooby, under the drivers seat, just for tightening wheel nuts, officer! May have to find it in the garage and dust it off.

Phil.

Some of the scoob boys on here know one of my mates Lee who has had a string of Imp turbo's. His latest one he got about 2 months ago brand new in the wrc blue with wing. Only had it about a week when some sh*ts broke into his house (lives with mum and aunt in Merseyside) in the early hours. Next thing bedroom doors kicked in, guys with knives wanting car keys, he hands them over and gets a bit of a kicking. They also slapped about his aunt who is in her 80's! Did one with the car and about 4k of stuff from the house. Aunt to scared to leave the house for weeks. He won't be buying another scoob (so he says) again. Couple of weeks later the police call him to tell him that the car has been found in Warrington burnt out. What a waste! He phones car dealer (based in Manchester) to let them know, they said stolen numbers were up again at the moment in Manchester, along with VRS. Using them as get away cars etc. What can you do? You hide the keys they batter you for them. You leave them on a table in the house and the insurance company gets arsy and the cops say you should know better! Would rather have someone take the keys than have to 'ask' you for them.

Damo

As a matter of principle I could never just hand them over - some things are plain wrong - so if they want to add GBH or murder to the list of sins/crimes then ultimately it will be worse for them. But to pander to wickedness - never. 30 years of 'Plodding' would just not permit it.

i believe there is a farmer (tony martin) down south who know what to do... but sadly we the public still let him go to prison for it....

I'm not a hero - but I am prepared to 'test' the court system again to see if they learned anything from the Martin case.

ps I have no WMD - honest Mr Blair, Mr Campbell, Mr Hoon - and I'll never slash my wrists for something that YOU make me do due to the perverse emphasis on protecting the rights of individuals - we need protecting from governments like ours.
