So Project cars FINALLY has a release date.

 

May 8th on Consoles/ boxed PC

 

May 7th for Steam

Would be good to get some Briskoda clubs/online events setup for the different formats.

I was interested in it along with a few other friends but everyone has lost interest with the repeated delays and I was concerned with the recent preview Eurogamer had which went from being a submission quality release to being not indicative of current quality when Eurogamer highlighted a number of performance problems with the game.  While I'd rather they release a game when it's finished, they shouldn't have been repeatedly giving release dates they weren't ever going to manage and I've lost confidence in it.  I'd like to be proved wrong but it feels like the game has been so hyped now it's just not going to be able to deliver, if it is solid on release though I'll be picking it up but I have my doubts.

I was looking at getting the WiiU version until I saw the PS4 gameplay videos. I picked up a PS4 yesterday and will be preordering from Amazon. The WiiU version has also been delayed again.

xbox one version footage has been sketchy/thin on the ground and has been confirmed running at a slightly lower resolution but thankfully at 60fps 

 

i have do have 2 concerns 

 

all the videos ive seen have no damage present even on a high speed rear end shunt 

 

and the pitiful car count is also a worry 

 

needs a lot more 

I'm certain there will be plenty of DLC to up the car count. I don't think it's too thin on the ground... Certainly enough tracks to pedal around! Love the fact they've included British tracks like Oulton park.

I had heard bad things. Unfortunately I think Forza has gone the way of too many games these days. Just bashing out a new one constantly.

Yep Forza peaked at 4 in my opinion. Hence why I went for a ps4 instead of an xbox with the idea of swapping over to GT. But seeing as we are going to have to wait a while for that. I will be buying this game to tide me over.

Looks like an upgrade to my 6 year old Q8200 PC is in order.

I think Gran Turismo is going to have to be something special to better this game.

 

1000's of Cars that all sound like Vacuum cleaners just isn't going to cut it.

i'll be honest ive not played a gran turismo game for a long time 

i remeber the scanda of i think it was GT4 where only certain cars were rendered in hd but the majority were low res versions

Yep im ps4 but would be willing to have race nights. I think specs are a good idea, as you say suspension and a certain bhp. Does this game have a proper tuning base like forza do we know? (All the diff camber settings etc) as I loved that part of it.

It could still be done on multi platform. It would just have to be a case of taking a pic of your laptimes etc?

Day its released I'm flying to sweden for 5 days with work

The official car list has been released, not a bad selection of cars to be honest. Not as many as other games, but each one looks and sounds beautiful according to the videos I've watched.

 

I am certain that DLC will be released with new cars appearing in the coming months/years. I personally would like to see more touring cars, from the mad S2000 tin-tops from the 90's-00's to the current NGTC cars.
