Why are xenons so expensive :(

Featured Replies

WRONG! They're for LHD cars and have a different beam setup.

Even though the code says 6Y2, they're 6Y1 and for LHD. I contacted the same seller a month or two back, I'll dig out the email,,,

Found it;

Dear Customer,

we know the problem, the manufacturers have given no precise information. Please check the OE-part numbers, this set replaces:

SKODA

6Y1941016 S; 6Y1941015 S

you can find this on your headlights.

Sehr geehrter Kunde,

Running HIDs in reflectors is just plain retarded though as the light reflects everywhere as the bulbs do not emit light in the correct pattern. They should not pass the MOT due to the beam pattern.

I have fitted HID's to three cars, all with standard reflector fittings and had no problems with either beam pattern or MOT's in fact one car was done in 2004 and

passes every year

Stick it on a beam tester and see the glare for yourself, then you may realise why its a terrible idea.

I also have fitted hid kits to some of my lesser cars one golf and one lupo the beam pattern in my golf was terrible it was like a bat signal

the lupo was no where near as bad both cars pass an mot or two I have a friend who passed both I suspect you have the same who cares if it passed an mot ask the people who drive passed you what they think

Does anyone have comparable pics? I'd like to upgrade the my bulbs to

can anyone send me a link to purchase a pair of these with black inners other than ebay

Your best bet Steve is to message the seller through Ebay or phone them up. I'm not aware of anyone other than Wingmirorman doing them.

I've still got mine that I got before selling the car sitting in the garage... Might be worth millions if I wait long enough!

I've got a set of genuine xenon's too, just need a little bit of work and they can go on :notme:
