Use of phone data when connected to bluetooth

Featured Replies

All,

How do I use my mobile data to use internet radio such as Tune-in so that I can play music via bluetooth? I have no problem connecting my phone to bluetooth but as soon as its connected, I'm unable to use mobile data!!

I've checked phone settings in MFD - premium & handsfree....I don't really understand the differences. I've had SII for nearly 3 years but never bothered to try internet radio. Also, will I be able to connect my tablet via this bluetooth internet in car? Any tips and experience with your SII's would be really handy, ta very much.

Which BT module is it?

How do I find that? Is it to do with some rsap?? But I need to double check...

It is. It will be the part number on the module under the seat that you need to report here. It will contain 035 730....

Thanks, Adamal. I will check and get back to you.

If you connect via Premium profile, you have to activate vehicle`s wifi and then log into vehicle`s network. After that you are able to use all data services on you phone.

Adamal, this is the part number 5C6 035 456 A which you asked for.

Btw, as per Linni's suggestion...via premium profile activated wifi and was able to use internet.....how does this work though? My mobile data was not activated so I'm a bit confused here....is it some sort of wifi hotpsot or does the car come with an onboard wifi?? So, will I be able to connect a tablet using this wifi simultaneously or will the internet work only with the bluetooth connected phone?

Apologies, I'm asking too many questions. My previous SII which was an 09 reg didn't have this wifi I reckon but my current SII which is a 13MY has this wifi so I'm a bit new to this. It will be great if I use a tablet using this wifi to keep my son occupied on long trips  :p

rSap takes over the control of your SIM card.

Car has onboard wifi. You can connect your tablet and laptop and whatever to car`s wifi, but they all use your phone`s data. Kinda hotspot created by car and powered by your phone`s SIM card.

Old thread but ended up here so sharing my solution... After a bit of digging my end, I discovered that if on android and I'm sure this applies to iOS too, when I went on the skoda Bluetooth device in my S10 Bluetooth setting when connected, I could select what to use the device for and I left calls and media turned on, however disabled remote sim. Upon doing this, I can still use phone for calls and media but my data now works on my phone! This has solved everything for me and the Bluetooth symbol on the dashboard is no longer Bluetooth premium, just Bluetooth. Hope this helps anyone still having issues

When connected Calls is switched on and only remote sim is deactivated!

@NedMitch

This can also be done through the phone settings in car to connect to (Handsfree) and  not through sim (Premium)
