Haynes Manual for Superb 2

Featured Replies

Anyone know of a decent alternative as it looks like Haynes have never done one.

Don't think one exists.

Haynes certainly don't list one.

No Haynes manual (yet) or anything else other than the manufacturers service documents (available on occasion via Fleabay)

If you're computer savvy look for a torrent of a VM that has ELSA.

What is VM please?

I think (!) it means Virtual Machine - allows your PC/Mac to think it has an operating system that can run 'non standard' software such as ELSA and other car data software.

Bit of info. here:

As I said, it could be something totally different though....I'm not that geeky :D

No need for a VM machine. Works fine with normal windows (or at least on my machine). I don't think it has to be x32 either (mine is), but i think it works on x64 too.

ETKA on the other hand, i've not managed to get to work on x64 (although keep seeing and reading others elsewhere saying they've suceeded). My solution is that i've set my machine to dual-boot Windows 7 x32 and x64 and leave ETKA and Elsa Win on the x32 partition.

I'm no expert on these, but i can just about figure the routine stuff out...

Which is one of the reasons I just load up the VM in workstation on whichever computer I'm nearest.  It's portable and I don't have to re-install it all every time I nuke and pave. :)

Just FYI my reply from Haynes regarding a manual for the Superb and Rapid sent in January 2015.

Dear Alec

Thank you for your email which has been forwarded to me for response.

On average we produce around 12 new and 8 updated manuals per year.  This has been our production schedule for many years and is about right for a viable range of manuals.  Inevitably there will be some models that are not covered and this has always been the situation.

There are a number of reasons why a manual may not be available for a particular model but our starting point is the number of vehicles on the road that are over 3 years old (i.e. out of warranty).  In the specific case of the Superb it has not reached our minimum target as there are only around 20,000 out of warranty on the U.K. market and a number of those are small volume specialist models.  Rapid models are almost all still under warranty.

I can understand your frustration at not being able to obtain a manual and we would like nothing better than to be able to meet all our customers’ demands but I hope you understand the reason why a specific model isn’t covered.  We appreciate your feedback and your comments will be used for consideration the next time we meet to discuss proposed manuals.

Regards.

Trevor.

Hi, are you still making Haynes maintenance manuals?

Over the last 10 years I have owned:

2000 VW Passat 2.8 V6 4Motion-no manual (Does NOT cover V6 (petrol & diesel) or 4-Motion models.)

2005 Subaru Legacy – no manual

Now 2013 Skoda Superb and Skoda Rapid – no manual

Regards

Alec
