Thats crap mate, pity those b@stards couldnt find something more constructive to do, like nailing their hands to a table to prevent them doing sh!t like that,

I'd rather if someone had a problem with me they knocked my door and gave me a boot to the pies rather than doing that to the motor. And if its random thats even worse, i wish syphilis upon the ***** that did it

And if its random thats even worse

It's random; there's been a spate of it at the bottom of my street but at the time my pride and joy was parked right outside my house. I actually consider myself lucky that it's been almost a year before it's happened. Sad reflection of today's society sadly...

If it had happened when the car was only weeks old, I'd have been in tears!

:thumbdwn: Can the paintwork be touched up? I recall there was a thread on this but can't remember the outcome. I suppose on the bright side, with an etch like that in the screen it's lucky it didn't smash it altogether. Cold comfort though. Some people are just not nice :(

PS Now reading your latest post, maybe you should leave the paintwork so the thugs can see that they've "already done that one"

a mate of mine lives in Stoke and had his 172 bonnet dented by some youths that were running over cars parked on his street... yes literally running over the car ! they did it to every single car that wasnt parked on a driveway.

apparently the police caught someone for doing it and gave them a slap on the wrists.

another time they had a guy walk down the street with a spray can making nice shapes on the side of every car as he walked past them...

Not too sure what to do with it at the moment, they certainly won't polish out though lol

Good idea about leaving it though, maybe they'd just do the doors on the other side, or the wings, bonnet or bootlid :thumbdwn:

Not nice. these bar stewards ought to be taught a lesson rather than be treated so leniently, makes my blood boil :finger: . Does remind me though, I saw a Vauxhall Astra that had been sprayed with what looked like paint/varnish stripper, what a mess!!!. I subsequently found out that the guy who owned it had been playing away from home!, his missus done it!!! :D

My Old Astra was trashed several times by yobs. Broken Windows, rocks thrown at it, door locks superglued, mirror's and aerials snapped. Eventually some stoneheads in a stolen escort van decided to drive into it at high speed leading to substantial damage and resulting the poor Astra being classified a write off, you have my sympathies.

If you find out who did it post their address on every car forum on the net.

It'd teach them a lesson if every petrolhead in the UK turned up and gave them a kicking every day for the next twelve months.

Why is it that people have to do this?

If its not keying cars, its slashing of kids faces in schools.

I posted a ranting forum a while ago about how crap this country has become....

Previously, it was aimed at the cost of this country, but this just adds to it.

The doo gooders have let it be, so that people can get away with this kind of behaviour. When I was younger, even thinking about doing this, would have been weighed up with the consequences of getting caught.

Nowadays, do criminal damage, whats the worst that can happen if your caught? You'll get a 2 weeks vacation, and a Playstation, all at the cost of the Tax Payer. WELCOME TO BRITAIN.

Following on, it used to be the case that one didn't do wrong things because it was just wrong, full stop. Now, IMO, it is promulgated that one doesn't do wrong things only because of the risk of being caught.

Unfortunately, human nature being what it is, that challenge seems to apply to all walks of life, whether it be speeding, thuggery, burglary, fraud, "white collar" fraud (eg tax evasion, misleading investment advertisements and banking practices), etc.

The slant of every public announcement is that, "If you don't comply, we'll catch you", be it TV licences, gatso's, congestion (London) charges, road tax (get clamped), etc. Even in yesterday's news, a proposal that straying into a proposed new "Olympic bus lane" in London will be a criminal offence with also a fine of up to

Welcome to Blairs Britain.

Violent crime up

Gun crime up

Sex crime up

Overall crime figures down, but I expect that's because people don't record a lot of minor crimes knowing nothing will be done or in fear of retaliation or the police turning around and trying to pin something on them for calling them (yes it's becoming more common).

I heard on the radio the other day a couple called the police as they were being burgled while they were in the house, the police turned up the next day !

Nice one Tony.

Nice one Cherry.

Oh I know, lets let a load of people out of prison, that will help.

I think most government statstics are "cherry-picked" or "massaged" anyway.

I know more unemployed people than are ACTUALLY in the statistics!

I wondered whether it was something they could do.

Would that invalidate my paint and corrosion warranties though? Minor point perhaps as I'm sure I won't have the car more than another 3 or 4 years.
