Damo's 2006 Octavia VRS

The red bits are going Paul.

The reflection of the lid on the dash storage compartment is really bright on my windscreen and hinders my dash cam footage.

I'm currently wrapping everything in 3M Gloss black.

Done some already and it looks better...

Should please the haters too!

Well, bit the bullet and ordered a new air con compressor.

Had it re-gassed, but the compressor was shot :(

£185 delivered via ebay shop Coolparts, and quoted £125 to fit by my local Indy

Bit peed off, as that was money set aside for mods.

Oh well, least I will be cool during the upcoming heatwave :D

Been a productive day today.

Managed to get all the dash and door trims wrapped in 3M Gloss Black.

Still undecided as to the centre console, whether to leave as a bit of colour against the black interior, or wrap them.

Also added a VRS decal on the glove box trim :)

Didn't realise it was a proper old-school vRS with manual rear windows Damo - bet they're pretty rare now :)

Sad times on the AC compressor, but with my red vRS it was £600 dealer job if that's any consolation! Under warranty, thankfully for me....

£180 for the compressor and its getting fitted next wednesday.

Just wish it was today it got fitted, because the commute home from work in this heat today was horrendous  :sun:   :whew:

Classic AC failure week really isn't it! Typical.....

Looking at your centre console pics, the change to an Audi gearknob made a world of difference in mine - looked loads better, but then I really did hate the std square Skoda offering!

Been thinking about that Steve.

Been watching a few S line gear knobs on eBay lately.

Only thing that concerns me, is the gators are stapled onto a frame. Unless the frames are the same size as The Octavia's, then that could be tricky.

I know you could just get the Kn0b end off by opening the clip, but I wouldn't mind a new gaitor as well

Yeah you're right - just chuck the Audi gator away :)

Not sure if you can get replacement Octy gaitors - maybe give SkodaParts a shout and check?
