Outstanding  determination and dedication.

Looks fabulous.

Are the side windows Tints or  blinds - I ordered the blinds for my 2006 VRS and they will not fit.

Have  posted a question concerning the running of the VRS - to cut a long story short - i do short journeys - apparently this is no good at all for the VRS.

I have fitted new Alloys - DRC 19" -  BACK CAT EXHAUST - K&N TYPHOON INDUCTION KIT - MILLTEK CAT BACK EXHAUST - & REMAP.

What are your views on short runs etc -

    Mick    Barnsley  s,yorks.

All the rear Windows are blinds, and they were from Superskoda, great fit and quality.

What blinds did you get that didn't fit?

I mostly do short runs, and as long as you don't thrash it when it's cold, and allow the engine to idle for a minute before turning engine off, then you shouldn't have a problem.

Sounds like you have quite a list of mods too, get a thread started

And I see your local to me, I'm in Sheffield, although I do pop over to Barnsley occasionally to visit friends

If you see me driving around, give me a wave :)

Hi Damo, just got a 56 plate vrs and was looking at changing the head unit. How did you find it? Any help welcome. Cheers

Ay up fella.

The head unit was in the car when I bought it, but I've had it out a few times to connect dash cam and a fakra aerial adapter.

It's not a bad unit, usb, sd card and DVD. It's not a patch on the newer HU's on the market currently though. Screen resolution isn't as good as newer models.

In my other VRS's I upgraded to MFD2's, but aftermarket are much better if you don't need the integration (mine being poverty spec lol)

Cheers

Latest update:

Finally got round to installing the chinese cheapo dash cam

Took me a while to figure out which fuses to use with my piggy back connectors, but managed to find 2 empty slots, one for ignition live, and one for perm live (as it records and saves the last few seconds when you switch the ignition off.

Quality is pretty good, having watched it back on my mac in HD, so can't grumble for £16 :D

Another bonus is the HU has video in so I can watch live, or recorded clips in the car

Here is a pic of it mounted (its tiny!)

And here its live on my HU

Big thanks to the guys in the Octy II forum for answering my million questions

Cheers

Damo

The whole hooked up to the in car LCD, that, that is cool :D

which fuse slots did you use for ign and perm live?

:)

Nice install Damo. You got a link to the camera in question? Might use one for a rear view

If you look at the top 2 piggy back fuses

Top left is Switched live, top right is perm live

The slots are empty, so I didn't need to piggy back, but I had them, so used them anyway :)

I am looking for a ign live for my fridge in boot lol

There you go then, 1st fuse on the left, 4th row up from the bottom :D

Sorry to pick up on a typo, you appear to have Two "Top Lefts" could you clarify, also did you put two fuses in your Piggy back Holders and what Amp,

Thinking of doing this on mine,

Ta

Oops, thanks for pointing it out mate, I've edited it accordingly

Yes, I put two 5A fuses in each, don't need any higher rated than that.

Looking good Damo!

I finally got my modified ST sold a little over a week ago and just yesterday settled on a twin turbo Supra import as its replacement  B)  Should be with me mid July. Should look nice sitting with the Superb.

Out of curiosity, where did you order your pressed plates from? I need to get my personalised plates on the Superb and I was planning to get them made up as pressed plates. Also were there other surrounds that aren't Vrs??

Cheers.

Spot on! Cheers pal!

Ah missed this thread!

Good to see you back again, Had a feeling you would be back in something soon :)

Looks like a great example mate and with a decent spec too! Stonechips are to be expected especially considering the age and mileage! who is doing the bodywork on the front end? There is only one bodyshop I would ever use in the Sheffield area, Not cheap but their work is awesome, They did my friends Concourse Corrado VR6 and his Nugget Yellow 16v. Also done some wheels for me and a tailgate on my last car which was a Saab Viggen.

Couldn't agree more, really dislike the look of the TFSI without a cover, and the TTS one just looks OEM.

Lovely car with some great mods, and you don't see many red MK 2's :-)

Looked well in person 2day Damo! Cheers for sorting me out ;) your camera was a bargain mod!

Cheers fella, and nice to meet you.

Talking of bargains, I thought I'd got a lot of car for the money I paid...

Seems you beat me hands down!

Will look awesome with your new alloys on ;)
