Eibach Fitting in West Mids

Featured Replies

Hi

Im considering getting some Eibach springs for my fabia vrs. Anyone recommend some where I can get them fitted correctly in the west mids area and there not gonna rip me off. Also being a bit of a novice in suspension do I have to have something else done i.e bump stops? whatever they are.

Cheers

I've just had Eibach springs and dampers fitted by Jabbasport nr Peterborough, there has been talk about cutting the bump stops down but Jabba don't do this and don't think it's neccasary. So far with a few hundred miles since having the work done I tend to agree but i'm far from an expert.

Hi

We have been fitting Eibach springs on the vRS for a while now.

We always do the mod for the bump stops.

We have not long since purchased some very expensive 4 wheel lazer alignment tools too.

We are in Chesterfield just off junction 29 of the M1 if that is any good.

Our number is 01246 455005.

If I can help just give me a call or PM me

If you are shortening your damper length by 25mm you are reducing the amount of travel by 25mm. If you then use full size bump stops you are further reducing the amount of travel.

All that will happen is you will be constantly bouncing on your bump stops, this will reduce the damping effect of your suspension and give you a harsh ride - before they disintegrate that is!!

Anyone know any places? JBS is just too far away.

Where in the West Midlands are you? There is Stealth in Warwickshire about 20mins drive from Coventry, dont know if that is any help.

Hmmm well I guess i'm going to find out the hard way... I wonder why Eibach don't supply shorter stops with the kit.

Im near Dudley. There is a local garage to me called Energized they carry out alot of modifications to various motors including suspension upgrades. I asked them for a quote and they said "You will have to bring it in as I have never done one of those before" So can I trust them to do a decent job? They have a decent reputation and im sure they would have done lowering works to golfs etc so Is it much different to any other car?

The website is www.energized-uk.com

if anyones interested.

i fitted my own eibach springs and didn`t mod the bump stops. Almost no change in ride quality and no bounciness at all. Its not too big a job to fit the springs yourself but the tool for the strut tops at the front is recommended.

Dont know of any places that I could recommend in the midlands.

I reckon it would be worth traveling that bit further to get in done properly by JBS/Jabba as they have previous experience with furbys.

Personally had some previous annoying experiences with a local fitter/muppet, even Halfords amd ended up wishing i had done it myself.

I tend to agree.........If i found a place with a good reputation i would traval a fair few miles to use this company....If fellow Briskodians recommend a place then i would be tempted to do the same...............That's just me though!!!!!!!!!!!!!
