Harness?

Featured Replies

Right, before I get too many opinions, I just want to say I am only looking for facts!

I'm very tall and find seat belts actually don't sit quite right on me, hence I've bought little SKODA shoulder pads for the seatbelt.

However, my mate recently fitted Takata harnesses to his type R. They're so much less painful on my body, and I quite like the splash of colour in the cabin and how they hold you!

My question is simply this. Is there a place I can fasten a harness to for my Citigo, as I fancy putting a set of harness seatbelts in the front just so I can avoid sore shoulder and have something a bit different to try out. I'm not quite sure what it needs to attach to and if the citigo has such a thing :-P

Thank you

(inb4 - 'Citigo is no race car, why does one need harness')

(Also, Hyphons, I'll be taking them with me into the Gti. So no wasted money ;) )

The way people normally fit them is rear seat belt bolts, rear seat mount bolts, rear isofix (not a good option imho) or around a harness bar from a cage. How would the harnesses fit around the seats? Theyre solid with no holes for the harnesses aren't they?

Seen mine enough times so you should know ;) you could always fit them to those holes in the rear seats that secure the car baby seats down! (if I'm honest if you really REALLY wanted to do this.. you'd probably need new seats and/or new seat rails)

Those baby seat attachments are isofix, which as I mentioned aren't strong enough imho. To do this you would need buckets with harness holes and to take the rear seats out and bolt the harnesses to the sest mounts

Ah, that's fair enough then. Makes it nice and simple for me. It's a no-go! Thanks for the help :)
