Bugger....spotted rust on the inside lip of a rear wheel arch :(

Featured Replies

I can't believe it...I was going around the car today having just washed it and ran my fingers along the rear wheel arch to check no crud was still there and I felt something not right...so a quick crouch down and look followed by stuffing my phone under the arch revealed the damage. Photos below.

Q. Is there an anti-perforation/rust warranty on Skoda cars? My handbook says so but there are no stamped checks for the body in the service book. It's a 2010 car....

That sucks dude.

Fairly sure they do a 12 year and have done at least 10 for a while.

On further reading there, looks like it covers rust internally, rather than externally. So maybe not much use?

Thanks for that link exFiesta.....I'll pop to the local dealer and see what they say. It looks like it's happened on the inside out so maybe I might strike lucky. You never know.

If not, out with the wet 'n' dry paper :)

Good luck, hope you strike it lucky with the dealer.

My 2010 estate also has rust appearing over the top part of the nearside (left) rear wheelarch. It looks like the paint has brown bubbles in it, which on a candy white car will get very noticeable if not treated.

Which side are your rusty bits Dave?

It's got to be a hole right through to qualify I think ie perforated. Good luck with pinning them down
