  • Put the wet weather kit on and went and did my Advanced Test.... and passed

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

  • Finished! That's 2016 done.

Today I took the Tiger Cub to the Sywell Aerodrome Pistons & Props show, classic bikes, cars and planes. Poor little bike, 2 up and seemingly uphill all the way. However, it made it and attracted a good deal of attention on our motorcycle club stand.

Nice one. Any pics to go with it? :)

Hopefully this will work...

and it did!

Nice one! Looks lovely! Something really to be proud of!

Just checked the settings on mine and there doesn't appear to be anything to alter the start up. Is it defiantly connected to a switched live?

Yup. First thing I checked, right up to the 2 pins on the cradle.

It also supplies the correct voltage.

Had a look on the Zumoforums and it seems I am not alone so have emailed Garmin.

I await their response.

Is just a fault with a certain units or model wide? If the former then just take it back if it's new and get it replaced.

Had an email from them just after I posted that.

They are sending me info on how to return it and returns label etc I guess

Stripped the side off the bike again to remove all the bits and bobs.

Got a full refund from the supplier.

Have ordered another from elsewhere.

Note to self... Test ALL the functions of the new one properly before fitting it.

Had a great day out with RTTW at the NMA, even if it was very wet. I was supposed to have gone to inlaws 50th wedding anniversary on the way back but the rain got that bad gear I got there I decided to make a bolt straight home so set the sat nav for home. Forgot I'd set it for twisty roads, so begins the magical mystery tour taking me down some very narrow roads and into a hamlet with a scarecrow festival beng held. I wasn't really in the mood for exploring with such heavy rain but couldn't help looking around the various scarecrows whch every house, farm, path seemed to have one. I've got to admit they were great with a real comedy element to them, I was laughing out loud at them, whilst drenched in the pouring rain.

After my little detour it was a quick adjust to the sat nav routing and off I went to cut across the Peak District. I don't normally approach the area from this direction and it took me up Holme Moss. I haven't been up there for decades and forgotten what a great road it is. Only downside was I came across a ****** in a Kia Sportage why when I went to overtake him and and another car he'd been sat behind for a while decided he was goinging to pull out then. I put it down to bad timing until I went to overtake him again later on and he moved across into my path, so decided to sit and wait. Just as we were coming into Holmfirth he indicated to turn into a road on the right using a turning lane. As I was passing him he swung into the left lane causing me to brake to avoid him before turning down the road he wanted go, laughing. Hopefully the ***** will find a nice sturdy tree to crash into at speed.

Shame you didn't get his registration and reported him, these people make me sick, its hard enough riding in rubbish conditions without idiot car drivers adding to the difficulty!

Yes, mine comes on with the ignition. When you switch the ignition off the Sat Nav asks if you want to keep the power on otherwise it will power down.

All sorted.

New one installed on Saturday and it works as it should, however the Bluetooth to my Sena seems to not auto connect when the Zumo is turned on again.

I'm sure that it's something in settings though.

Mine just connects each time when I power up but I have a Scala Packtalk. Never tried connecting my brothers Sena to it but would imagine it would do the same. Does the Sena require a different way of connecting via Bluetooth to the Sat Nav like the Scala does?

Don't think so. I've got the day off today so will have another look at it

Try resetting the headset, holding both buttons for 12 secs, then pair with Sat Nav before the phone. On mine, the Sat Nav has priority over the phone.

Went to a Chelsea & Fulham HOG Chapter meet at "The Rose PH" in Chelsea near Warr's H-D and stopped off at "The Bike Shed" in Shoreditch on the way home for a coffee :)

It's the first time that I've been here, it looks like a good place with parking for bikes, they had a live band playing tonight so I'll check this out again when its not so late.

With weather like we've been having up in the NW coast, there's no time for cleaning, it's riding time. Took the CRF1000 from Ullapool, Dingwall, Alness, Bonar Bridge, Rosehall, Aultguish, Elphin, Strath Kanaird, Morefield and home, circa 135 miles, brilliant sunshine, and there's another 6/7 days forecast of the same. The roads are now empty as nearly all visitors have gone way south, so it's play time, yipee.

Mike

the old girl is still in bits , was boring the cylinders out today  +10 thou at work in my lunch break , i need to pull my finger out and finnish taking the bottom end apart as the big ends are a bit on the loose and wobbly side .

i will grind them up if needed but hopefully just put new shells in if there are no scores .

looking forward to doing the geardox i can do that on my smaller mill / lathe at home (i think the boss is fed up with old triumph bits all over the machine shop) :dull:

Mike, how you liking the Africa Twin? I was tempted but knew I would spend most of my time on the road so went for the 1190 Adv which has so far exceeded all my expectations.

Front right grip and switch gear stripped as the heated grip is US. Got new grip today £65 minus a few pennies. I know it is expensive but must have proprietary lugs for throttle cables. Will fit tomorrow hopefully.

Took it for its 2nd MOT.

Sailed through, as it should.

Going to spend the afternoon respraying the grab rails.

It appears I got the protection film slightly in the wrong place and the paint has rubbed through to the primer by the pannier strap.

Doh!

Bought it a little friend

Got back yesterday after doing 170-miles on the Triumph (now done 280 miles) only to see that the Harley needed to go for a run as the battery was getting low.

Took that out this afternoon for a quick blast up the M11 and got drowned between the M25 Junction and the Junction for Harlow, the morale of this story is never trust a weather report! :(

Now I have a car and 2 motorcycles to clean,

Sounds about right mate.

I looked at my weather app at dinner which said sun and 10% chance of rain. Looked out the window n we were in that 10% bloody peein it down :D.

It dried out though n i got a few miles in on the Tracer this evening in the dark. Now up to 860 miles.

Its got those peddle things on?

It does, but it also has a motor and two wheels. Same as my first moped as it happens.

Anyway, I'm thinking of it more like a two wheeled Tesla than a penny farthing. Up to 17mph anyway.
