Insured it, then checked the MOT and realised it run out in April. Whoops.

Could you get away with a tank bag and dry bag on the rear?

Have a look at SW-Motech

It will be something like that i think. Might have a top box or something. I'm not too sure but i dont really fancy forking out for panniers, again!

They do some nice givi panniers though haha.

Cheers! (:

How about a set of these?

Got a set on the NC. I can get enough clothes n stuff in for a 10 day trip.

Much lighter to carry than hard luggage.

The only drawback I've found is you need to protect the areas where they touch bodywork.

They do come with a couple of A4 sheets of thick sticky film, great for flat or single curves but doesn't do complex curves as its too thick.

Sounds good mate, but is there supposed to be a picture or a link? I cant figure out what you're describing :D.

Gaffer/duck tape is your friend...used it on my Blade when I went to Spain and it worked a treat, just put a couple of layers on so you can see if the tie downs rub through the first one.

Ive used that non slip matting before between things. Seems good for the job.

Try helicopter tape. Clear, very tough and doesn't yellow with age.

A little test ride tonight to make sure the quickchanger was working correctly and after a few adjustments using the phone app and it's better than ever. The down change works but not as smoothly as the ups which are seemless.

Well I'm happy now that there will be no issues for next weeks RTTW, might need to clean the bike though.

Glad to hear it!

I dont think it will ever be as smooth on the downshift? Not as straight forward is it. Does it blip the throttle when going down?

Clean. Hmm. Mine needs a clean too!

I've heard of this stuff before.

How elastic is it?

Does it conform to complex curves and stick to sharp convex angles?

Hard to describe the stuff really but it's a flexible plastic that the apply to leading edges of helicopter blades to protect them. I've used it before on bikes where it will go around frames etc to stop stone chips etc. Heating it up with an hair dryer makes it much more flexible when you apply it. Convex and concave angles no problem but panels that are domed you struggle with unless the radius is minimal, anything more rounded and you need to cut V's into the tape before applying to prevent creases.

Sounds like a result!

Snicking up through the gears is such a joy and also adds to the acceleration. You can time your gear changes and achieve the same thing but have the quickshifter cut the ignition for those milliseconds make it so easy as well as making me look way better than I am. I would never have thought of having a quickshifter fitted if it hadn't come with the bike but now I have it I wouldn't want to go back to being without.

It's the Healtech Quickshifter Easy that is fitted to my bike.  It is plug and play into your existing wiring loom with no cutting of wires just remove original plug from socket and install into the Quickshifter loom and the plug the Quickshifter loom into the original socket. The app makes it easy to set up too. In automatic mode you set the minimum revs you want to work from, in my case 3k rpm and the maximum 11.5k rpm. The cut out period which you can increase if you get missed gear changes or false neutrals. The sensor sensitivity can be increased so that it doesn't cut the ignition if you accidentally knock the lever. You can go manual mode which will allow you to set up the rev ranges and sensor by gear but I've had no need to.

The only problem with the fitting is getting to your ignition coils as they are usually at the top of the engine right under the tank but if your doing an air filter change then it's the ideal time to fit one.

Bust the clutch cable - feckit!

Hopefully you were home or able to get home when it happened. Easy enough to replace and they usually come with the outer cable cover so just a matter of unhooking from the handlebar lever and clutch arm. Fit new cable and adjust for biting point. Flood the inner cable with a teflon or PTFE oil prior to fitting as this leaves a protective layer to help against corrosion. Buy OEM rather than a pattern part as they smoother and last longer too.

You will be pleased with it.

Ive got the 375 (not sure what the difference is?) and its great. Cant fault it (:

Well, got the new nav up and running.

Question... My old one used to turn on and off with the ignition as it was powered from a switched live.

The new one, even though powered from the same connection, doesn't.

Does yours behave the same?

I have the Zumo 590 and you've got me thinking now as mine is from a switched live too and I think it does power up straight away. I'll have to double check tonight.

I use mine on a perminant live to the battery so im not sure.

However, it usually switches to battery power when power is lost

Yes, mine comes on with the ignition. When you switch the ignition off the Sat Nav asks if you want to keep the power on otherwise it will power down.

Well, it appears the manual is no use whatsoever.

It might be something in settings menu?

I'll have another play with it

Just checked the settings on mine and there doesn't appear to be anything to alter the start up. Is it defiantly connected to a switched live?

Gave the Tracer its first bath!

Polish and then wax next!

Today I took the Tiger Cub to the Sywell Aerodrome Pistons & Props show, classic bikes, cars and planes. Poor little bike, 2 up and seemingly uphill all the way. However, it made it and attracted a good deal of attention on our motorcycle club stand.
