What should I get done via VCDS, and how much Beer will it take? ;-)

Featured Replies

My workhorse is a '63 plate MK3 TDi vRS (As per signature), and as of yet she has not been fettled with.....

However, I know a few things can be enabled via VCDS so in short...

1. How long would it take

2. What can I enable with the spec I have

3. How much beer / bacon would be required? :D

Thanks!

1. How long is a piece of string

2. Probably quite a lot

3. Probably not too much. :D

1. Depends upon the answer to 3 and what you want doing

2. Depends upon the controllers fitted to your car

3. About 6 bottles of beer and a bottle of wine (if you want it done quickly)

"a few things"............

I think over all it took several hours to do the tweeks to my MK7 Golf................... ..............

opps............... :D

An hour is enough to enable everything that it is possible to enable - it helps when you have done quite a few though so you know where everything is in the adaptations list :)

Aye, it doesn't take long if VCDS is driven by someone who has done it before (and you know what you need).....

A beer or two is always good recompense,  :D

Hahahaha

I would be quite interested in seing a quick list of what can be activated without taking into account the differences depending which cameras are fitted, I thought there was only a few things that can be done with the VCDS.

My 1st MK3 took just over an hour (to scan, code then re scan) the next was quicker as you get an idea where the items are in the huge adaptations list, although now there is a search function (not tried it yet) in the latest Beta release this potentially should save even more time.

I appreciate all the responses - Thanks

Next Question - Who wants the Beer / Wine / Doughnuts?  :D  (Based in Mansfield, but can travel)

Cornering fogs and high beam Assist will be £400 worth of options that can be enabled via vcds right off the bat.
