Or is the new Superb TSI going to make the vRS TSI look overpriced?!

Online brokers can get you a vRS, with the same spec I'd probably look at for the SE L Exec Superb, for c.£26.5k.

However, Coast2Coast can get you the TSI Superb for a shade under £26k...............

I know the vRS will be the sharper drive, but in all honesty, I would rather have the Superb..........and if it's cheaper as well?!

Anyone any thoughts on this?

vrs tsi estate (no options selected) on 'drive the deal' is currently £22k - what options does the SE L have over vrs?

From memory, at least this lot:

Columbus Sat Nav

Leather Seats

Electric Drivers Seat with memory

Sunset Glass

Remote Electric Boot

Boot Net Programme

Front and Rear Parking Sensors

Cornering Fog Lights

I would take the Superb, no question about that!

bear in mind that you have to compare the DSG vRS as well, because the Superb only comes with DSG.

Depends if you want a car that big. The superb has always been a well spec'd car for its price.

My mate said the same thing why not wait for the superb.....I guess for me it's just a bit too grown up. But saying that I also like the new volvo xc90!!

I have yet to see the prices, but I dont think it will be at all close. Besides, who is going to buy 280 petrol in superb... its going to use fuel like a burning oil plant.

Not the 280.....they are doing a fwd 220 TSI with DSG. i.e. The vRS engine.

And I would buy the 280 if I can afford it :)

I would. Guess depends on how heavy your right foot is but probably similar to the Seat Cupra/Golf albeit slightly worse because of the extra weight?

That said the Superb is a huge car and as my wife will use it most we didn't want (or need) such a large car. So Octavia it is.

Edit: and also I expect that will cost significantly more than the VRS I have along order!

That is massively overpriced. I have a VRS TDi DSG with loads of options for 19.5k brand new

Are you some kind of wizard?

£19.5k for a brand new MkIII Octavia vRS TDi with DSG, with a load of options, when even Broadspeed (who are generally the cheapest online broker for most cars) have the hatch at £22,058 without ANY additionals options?

Can you smell something...............

It that inclusive of VAT. If so which dealer was that?

What options and how on earth did you get that deal?!

Unless he's Armed Forces or something, I don't see how he can have...........he is effectively saying he got somewhere between a 25% and 30% discount (depending on how much his options cost, of course).

Sorry, but I just don't believe a normal punter can get that; not in a million years.

There's some 1 owner pre-reg / delivery mileage 15 plate ones kicking about on autotrader for just under £20k but look basic spec / no options. One with 350 miles on for £19.5k. Lots of ex demo 3-6k ones that will be in that kind of budget, but also interested in £19.5k brand new with lots of options?

Or does this include a Px that masks the true cost of the new car?

That's impressive! Not wanting to suggest that's not true but do you get a bigger discount for paying with Rocking Horse Poo?

I jest well done if you got that, and yes I agree the Octavia is overpriced buy then the whole Skoda range is......as are many other makes out there!!

If you look at the prices here this will give you a comparison of what is available:

http://www.griffintaxfree.com/skoda-tax-free-specials/

With military / 999 discount:

Octavia VRS hatch TDI manual is £19k tax paid.

Superb SE-L hatch (150ps) TDI manual is £20.4k tax paid.
