Well as expected my maps didn't work as it was the wrong sd. The dealer was shocked I knew they wouldn't work.

They have ordered me one. Can I just confirm the part number of the sd i need.

And how shocked were you that the dealer was fecking clueless???

I collect my new Octavia VRS on Monday so hope this problem is fixed with my car.

Yes but working, can always update, no problem as the system works :-)

Sorry to sort of highjack this thread, but can anyone recommend a brand of SD card that's known to work well with the Amundsen MIB unit. (v1)

 

  Would I see any actual real world performance difference between a class 4 card and a class 10 card?  It will be for just storing / playing back music and to upload the station logos to the unit for my presets.

Day 8 in the Rutty house and still no SD card..(said in newcastle accent!)

They cant drop the support. Lots of new cars with mib1. It will probably just be different downloads based on vin-number.

I would imagine the bigger size could be partly down the higher quality assets to make use of the higher resolution screen.

Just updated my SD card to the latest maps. Was a piece of wee to do.....

Now just trying the station logo update download

Found out today that a new card is £176.00 + VAT so I won't be buying one of them!, really miffed that you didn't get free updates with the Fabia Monte Carlo Tech which came with the Amundsen+ as standard!

Map updates have always been chargeable prior to the new generation MIB units.

Just picked mine up from the dealer, al working fine

Mine is working fine from pick up.

To be fair I did point out to the dealer a few days before pick up that its a MY16 unit and will need a different SD card, so that can't have hurt !
