In the unlikely event 2012, L & K grille

Featured Replies

Just in case someone was thinking of buying a new shiny grille (£119 Euro's) that is "new" for the L & K complete with painted on shiny pieces DON'T.

It is the same as the one they sold three years ago. I know because I bought one three years ago as Skoda stopped selling them with the L & K, I obviously found out the hard way therefore I emailed them and they replied as such. The "shiny" bits peel off after a couple of months. So they stated in their email that I should paint it with I presume a clear coat which they do not mention in the add.

They have lots of very good deals but this is not one of them.

I have never heard of this, do you have any pictures?

The L&K came originally with the shiny chrome effect grille over three years ago when it first came out but the grille was stopped by Skoda as the vertical chrome strips bits kept peeling away. So they resorted to the standard grille that everyone has. This company produced a replacement but it was equally as bad. That is what they are selling now as "new" and recommend It to be lacquered only if you question it via email.

It is for sale in that grille section especially for the L&K.

So I will not now order one, shame as it looks very nice when new.

I did look at that three years ago bu though it would look too much of an after though but thankyou anyway.

Interesting topic. Bought my L&K last January, shows how much attention I pay to these things so just went out and had a look. I have a black finned grill with a chrome surround. The black fins have two inlaid chrome strips.

It looks very much like the ones shown on Superskoda.   :o

Raptor, I presume it is the FL version. Do you have pictures?

HI,

Yes it is the FL. I have tried to upload a file but is saying I cannot upload this type of file. It is a jepeg reduced to 550K, so should be ok. Any ideas?

Problem is that the file extension is .v2jpg, probably from when you resized it. Rename the file so that the extension is .jpg, and it should work fine to upload.

Thanks for the advice. That has sorted it.

Did not like the V2

Thanks for the advice. That has sorted it.

That looks the same as my "standard" FL grille.

  • 3 weeks later...

I fitted Superskoda bars to the grille giving the appearance of a chrome grille.

Looking at the mk3 today, SE L Exec, 190 estate which has the chrome vertical strips. These are obviously of a superior quality.
