Getting back to the TPM, I was wanting to know which version of firmware on the YETI 5L would let me use the Maxidot to reset the TPM settings.

Anyway I got Automotive Gadgets in Huddersfield to fit the reset button and the wiring to the ABS block, the VCDS could not be set up for the Maxidot but the standard setup worked as described in the Yeti manual, so all ok.

Cost £80 for fitting and setup.  :cocktail:

Hello!

Following the instruction I found here, I tried to enable TPMS function on my Yeti 1.6 TDI 2014 FL.

These are modifies I operated with VCDS:

[03-ABS Brakes] > [Coding-07] > [Long Coding Helper] > Byte 16 > Bit 2: “Tire Press Monitoring (TPMS/PR-7K6) installled”; Bit 1: it's hidden so I changed the second value (counting from right) from 0 to 1 on Binary field

[03-ABS Brakes] > [Coding-07] > [Long Coding Helper] > Byte 17 > Bit 2: “Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS/PR-7K6) via Instrument Cluser (MY 2011+)”

[19-Can Gateway] > [Installation List] > “4C-Tire Pressure II”

[17-Instruments] > [Coding-07] > [Long Coding Helper] > Byte 02 > Bit 0: “Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS) active/installed”

The result was that I had Tyre Monitor entry on Maxidot but when I try to save the "new" pressure I got the message "Could not store tyre pressures".

In addition I noticed that the TPMS lamp on instrument panel never light on.

I did an Autoscan with VCDS getting these errors from ABS:

Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks

I can confirm it works on my MY12 Octavia, looks like it became possible on at least some MY11 vehicles.

03-ABS Brakes

- Checked byte 16, bit 1 - No description <-- Edit: I missed this originally but it is needed as per http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/363554-tpm/#entry4747407

- Checked byte 16, bit 2 - Tire Press Monitoring (TPMS/PR-7K6) installled

- Checked byte 17, bit 2 - Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS/PR-7K6) via Instrument Cluser (MY 2011+)

19-CAN Gateway

- Added 4C (Tire Pressure II) to the installation list

17-Instruments

- Checked byte 2, bit 0 - Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS) active/installed

There is now a 'Tyre Pressure' section in the 'Settings' on the Maxidot:

%7BfileStore.core_Attachment%7D/monthly_11_2016/post-121621-0-32541300-1478252918_thumb.jpg

Which gives the following prompts:

%7BfileStore.core_Attachment%7D/monthly_11_2016/post-121621-0-15560800-1478252924_thumb.jpg

%7BfileStore.core_Attachment%7D/monthly_11_2016/post-121621-0-24988200-1478252928_thumb.jpg

%7BfileStore.core_Attachment%7D/monthly_11_2016/post-121621-0-91586100-1478252931_thumb.jpg

Simples ;)

Thanks very much for this, I successfully enabled it yesterday on my grandads 2012 Yeti Elegance as it has the MK60EC1. I was unable to access address 4C (Tyre Pressure II) with VCDS as it just times out, is this normal behaviour what with it being a virtual module?

Unfortunately the Mrs 2012 Octavia has the MK70, so this doesn't work, and I can't really justify swapping it for the better one as she won't have any idea what ESP or ASR is, so I've ordered the TPMS reset button and wiring kit from AliExpress for under a tenner.

That's correct, 4C is a 'virtual' module created by the ABS module so it doesn't really do much diagnostics wise.

Fitting a TPMS button is much easier than a MK70 to MK60EC1 swap so that's definitely the simpler plan! A MK70 already supports ASR too

Hi Langers,

I really appreciate all Your knowledge, and hope you can guide me as well.

I have an octavia from 06-2010, with both instrument cluster and gateway replacement. (I have fitted HBA, and it works like a charm).

But for some reson i cannot get the instrument to appear with the "Tire Pressure" menu in the maxidot, so that i can reset the TPMS that way.

I have done all the coding you have described, incl. the hidden bit 1 of byte 16 in the abs module.

Im frustrated that it will not show - i don't get any errorcodes.
Do you think that i should try to soft reset the modules, or is it a waste of time ?

Do you know which wersions of hard an software is required ?

My instrument is as follows:

Your coding looks OK from what I can tell.

Looking back at when I had this enabled, I had the following modules:

Address 03: ABS Brakes (J104) Labels: 1K0-907-379-60EC1F.clb
   Part No SW: 1K0 907 379 BJ HW: 1K0 907 379 BJ
   Component: ESP MK60EC1 H31 0121

Address 17: Instruments (J285) Labels: 5K0-920-xxx-17.clb
   Part No SW: 1Z0 920 943 Q HW: 1Z0 920 943 S
   Component: KOMBI H05 0608

Address 19: CAN Gateway (J533) Labels: 7N0-907-530-V2.clb
   Part No SW: 7N0 907 530 BG HW: 7N0 907 530 AN
   Component: J533 Gateway H56 1674

I'm afraid I'm not sure which of your modules is causing your issues 😞

At a guess, it might be the cluster which needs to be running 06xx.

Ok thanks for looking :)

But is it not strange that the cluster works with the HBA then ? It has the correct symbol with the "A" in a light when it is enabled. HBA is rather new - get my point ?
The cluster is also capable of displaying the symbol for coffee break - driver alert - so i guess it cannot be that old ?

The tpms functionality is OK - i can reset the tpms with vcds and the chime goes off - so its just the reset from the maxidot i miss....

When i installed the HBA i read a post written by you where you stated to fill the 09 module with zero's, an then afterwards the correct long coding , for the module to behave correctly.
Could it be the same with this problem ?

Being able to support one feature has little to do with the support for another.

A quick google found this thread which also implies 04xx clusters are too old for this 😞

Attention!
At the moment, it is known for certain that support for the “Tire Pressure Monitoring” menu item in MaxiDot begins with dashboards with number ...843 Q and higher.

!!! If your dashboard version ( ...843 F/K) or lower, then there will be no menu item in MaxiDot - NO SUPPORT at the software level!!!

What year did Skoda stop putting that on the Yeti MFD?
Mine is very early 2015 and has nothing on the Maxidot relating to TPMS, reset only by pressing the TPMS button for a few seconds when in alarm.

I dont know - but if You have a button on the dash You can press, then there is no reason to have the option in the MFD as well.
My problem is that i dont have i button to press, and therefore only can reset the tpms by hooking up the pc and vcds - so for me the option in the MFD would be very nice.
But i guess i have to install the button - but it is almost impossible to route the single wire out in the engine bay to the ABS module.
