Torque settings for spark plug NGK IZFR6P7 ?

Featured Replies

Can anyone help me with the Torque settings for the spark plug NGK IZFR6P7 ?

Its usually printed on the packet.

28nm for the bosch plugs in my htp engine.

Can anyone help me with the Torque settings for the spark plug NGK IZFR6P7 ?

25Nm for the 1.2TSI. It's the engine that defines the spark plug torque setting not the spark plug.

These are premium laser iridium saprk plugs ,the only thing the packet says is 1 drawing  with 1/16 of aturn   and another showing 1/2 -2/3 of a turn i presume ,no torque settings.

What are you using those plugs in a 1.2 TSI?

They are quite expensive spark plugs.

They are quite expensive spark plugs.

They're the plugs NGK recommend for that engine.

I do know they are the NGK plugs suitable for the 1.2TSI,  but not the ones that necessarily get fitted at a Skoda Service,

and they can be 200 - 300% more expensive than the recommended spark plugs.

Thread Diameter

Flat seat type (with gasket)

14 ø mm
Cast Iron Cylinder Head (lb-ft.)    18.0~25.3
Aluminum Clyinder Head (lb-ft.)  18.0~21.6

would that mean my torque settings should be Aluminum Clyinder Head (lb-ft.)  18.0~21.6 , i am so afraid i dont over tighten !!!!

Its been years and years since cast iron was used on an engine.

If youre that afraid, dont do it. Get somebody who knows to do it for you

ok Guys managed to change the sparks with no problems i used Phils advice torque setting 25Nm ,starting at 20Nm,and followed the package instructions of around 1/2 -2/3 of a turn wich is what the 25Nm is within!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also changed the air /pollen filter very easy and a OEM fuel addidtive, that  i had added at my previous full tanking .

NeXT week its off to the dealer for oil and filter change(spark plugs air/pollen filter was due according to book ,but i decided to do these my self saving afew bob)as my variable Dot came on-SERVICE NOW-.

Can say that the cars torque has signfically increased with the fuel addidtive, spark plug  and air filter change.

What kind of 'Original Equipment' Fuel Additive?

& why not just change your own Oil & Filter?

What kind of 'Original Equipment' Fuel Additive?

Stock Code G 001770A2 (G17 additive)

Mostly because for the car inspection and check points they do and the service book stamp .

Hope this helps!!!

Cheers.

What difference does a Skoda Dealers Stamp for an Oil & Filter change mean with a 5 year old car?

(well the body inspection covers the Corrosion Warranty, i know that.)

I use the additive before a service ,around every 1,5-2years ,some say it does nothing others say it helps clean the injectors from build up,depends on your driving style too.

Probably the stamp is useless unless you want to sell the car and need some  proof of maintenance.

Mostly its the checkpoints ,brakes etc that i wont really pick up as good as they would i suppose ensuring that im driving a safe car( even though one might argue what couild go wrong with a 5 year old car), prevention better than cure :notme:

The additive was something that VW / Audi had for carbon build up on the earlier engines where inferior fuel was being sold and where they could make more money selling it as a VW/ Audi product,  i suppose they still make money selling it.

Even in the UK where they fuel quality is not an issue.

It can not do much harm i suppose, and they say do not use additives, but sell an additive with the same formula as cheaper ones.

If you can not check the car over yourself, then maybe a good independent would be better than paying £140 to a Skoda Dealer for a Minor Service.

A Skoda Dealers Service Stamp & Full History shows, Minor, Major, Minor, Major, Minor,

& unless you are paying extra for Brake Fluid Change at 3 Years & 5 Years and Brake Drums Removed and

Inspection carried out, then that is all you have, Minor, Major, Minor time about,

and then Receipts for Extra Checks and Maintenance.

Cheers.

Well I got a very significant contribution for replacing the cam chain on a 5 year old 1.2 TSI because it had a full Skoda service history.

That was good, and point taken,

but you could have had 100% paid by them, due to the Fundamental Design & Manufacturing fault,

and that they knew when your car was still in the Original Manufacturers Warranty.

I think i might have that Rattle too, is too late to do anything about it now(5 years old)?
