Citigo ASG V-Max

Featured Replies

While driving in Germany recently I had some empty roads in the ASG and managed to stretch its legs a bit

I would like to say the Citigo 1.0 engine is very flexible and loves a rev and the ASG ratios are superb.

3rd is good for speedo reading of 80mph

4th is good for speedo reading of 110mph

5th is good for speedo reading of ???mph

It just shows how much VAG should launch the UP! and Citigo GT models.

The Citigo felt secure and grippy as high speeds, not twitchiness or bodyroll to be found.

I have feeling the manual ratios are different, and not so much of a joy as they most probably are taller and fight the engine power to reach the sweet spots to provide good experience.

......doesn't the Citigo only have a booked top speed of 99mph? May have pushed the poor thing a little lol

I'd never thought to check my asg before, but that's a tall 4th gear for 60 ponies!!, I had a GT Primera that had a failed 5th gear (40k miles, quite a common problem unfortunately and £600 to sort :/ ) I remember playing with a gti one day (obviously on closed roads officer) and iirc I got to about 120 before the rev limiter kicked in.

The citigo asg has 75ps, well our elegance does

Might say 99MPH top speed, but on a downhill with a bit of wind up her arse, she'll definitely fly

Mines the SE, so 60 :( , the 75asg has a claimed top sped of 106.

Still can do it with a 60 :)

couldn't get mine to break 100mph, although it was a hilly section and had only just been run in lol

I'm getting old, I haven't even tried!!

Why bother?

And to the magistrate.

Not before de-licensing you on grounds of insanity.

As I found out the hard way the "book" top speed doesn't hold up in court. Who would have though a 90bhp Peugeot 206 HDI would be clocked at "over 126mph at one stage" police officers comment not mine.

Anyway to the point. I've no idea what mine will do as I've only hit 80 on track so far

Yes, but what speed were you doing? ;)

More useful is the excellent flexibility in 5th gear in m'way driving.

I did and it cost me 540 euros...

With this attitude I save money and a  wooden box...

No fixed penalty with 100 mph, automatic court

at least trying to max a citigo out isn't too fast, not like a remapped MK1 Octavia VRS, or worse still a Zx10!

 or worse still a Zx10!

Sounds like Spectrum used to make (note sarcasm & not moped fan :) )
