New Octavia vRS Tsi

Featured Replies

Bloody hell, just committed and actually placed an order for a new car. Went in there to place the order and I was definitely going to order meteor grey, ended up ordering race blue. Still have a few weeks to grow some balls and change my mind.

Ordered vRS Tsi manual in race blue with anthracite Gemini wheels, black pack, canton sound system, front and rear parking sensors, smart link and space saver spare wheel.

What do you reckon? I still can't decide on the colour but know I like the blue whatever happens...should I change back to meteor grey?

Change to Metal Grey metallic, everyone goes for race blue now especially since its no longer Vrs exclusive. After 2 race blue vrs's I decided against a third and went for a different colour and im glad I did

That's the other colour I am also considering. I do really like the metal grey as well. The one I test drove was the metal grey, it does look nice. I have a mk2 in race blue now, I do want to change the colour but I do like the blue anyway. Too much choice and I can't make up my mind. I have the order placed now. I thought at least get the order going and I still have a few weeks to change my mind.

How do you find the dsg? Is it really good with the petrol engine? I was considering but I don't do a lot of miles and didn't think it was worth the extra for me.

Ran a mk2FL dsg with diesel. So bought a mk3 dsg in petrol.

I'm sure it will be equally as good

Come from a Mk1 Octy VRS (11 years, carrida red) straight to the Mk3, and from the outset it had to be Race Blue!

My last F/l vrs was petrol with dsg and it pretty much made my mind up when it came to change. I doubt i would go back to a manual box now. Im lucky if I average 8000 miles a year so it was an easy choice to make for me.

My metal Grey estate

I have exactly same without canton! Defo race blue cause it shines like a diamond when polished, I also get so many comments on how nice the colour is, Race blue is meant for the VRS ;)

Go for something different. Silver looks the buisness

Love the look of your car. Really do like the metal grey. Looks awesome when polished up.

Yeah that's right, that what I like about my one. Looks lovely when you polish it up. Yours looks mint. I like my music and wanted to to treat myself to a decent sound system, but don't like aftermarket stuff much. The music doesn't have to be loud but like it to sound decent quality, and I saw a few comments about the standard set up not being that good. How do you find it?

I would also have sleepless nights on race blue, metal grey and maybe some others..

Good thing candy white was free and I like white so I ordered those. All well, expect for bird poo visibility.

That said, I wonder if some colors attract bird poo more than the others :D

like you say its free as well. I think if you like the car, you tend to like it in most colours. . I want to have a colour though if you know what I mean. I enjoy polishing and waxing the car and like to see the result of my efforts.

Blue is a very nice colour, unfortunately it is no longer an exclusive VRS colour and due to the popularity, to my eyes has lost a bit of the visual impact. Grey looks classy and is still relatively rare.

Both look nice but Race Blue is far easier to spot in a car park. I personally would have purchased white, but my wife had veto rights and we both agreed on Race Blue. It's certainly noticeable, but not in your face like the green. It shows up dirt much worse than Meteor Grey would.

It it really classy, nice and subtle. This is why I cant decide. I like all the colours. :D

For me the other half said either white or black....had black and although it's nice when washed and waxed it gets dirty very quick.

So for a change I went for white! (Hope nobody notices my signature)

Car colours are like opinions. Everyone thinks theirs is best. Get the colour you want and don't let anyone talk you into having something different.

I know. Problem is I dont know which one I want! :D

Then put all the colours you like into a hat and draw one out at random. If you're disappointed with what you draw out, then draw another one out until you're satisfied.

Funny you should ask that, Halfords has done "research" on this.

Red seems to be the colour the birds prefer to **** on, followed by blue.

Green is the safest colour :)

Link is in Norwegian, but Google translate should make it understandable.

Not great piccys but I went for black with the pictoris wheels.

Photos taken after it's first wash.

Car colours are indeed all personnel choice but don't forget...... Red is the fastest .... It's fact.

Sorry, but you're all wrong :)

Green in best :D

Stick with the blue!. The grey looks dull unless it's nice and sunny (and clean). Plus every other car on the road is grey nowadays!!
