New VRS Spec; what to go for and opinions please!

Featured Replies

Hi there, as I've already mentioned, I'm looking at purchasing a new Octy VRS Estate diesel manual on the 0% PCP scheme. I'm currently on it with the same car (63-plate) but I fancy a new colour, better spec, and pretty much think I'm going to keep this next one. I do 18-20k miles per year so the diesel is definitely the one I'm going for again.

The spec I'm looking at is as follows:

1) Race Blue metallic (I currently have a candy white car)

2) Leather with heated seats

3) winter pack ( assuming heated washer nozzles are included with this)

4) front and rear parking sensors

5) auto folding dimmable door mirrors

6) Black pack plus

7) towbar*

8) space saver spare wheel

9) sat nav*

* with the Towbar and sat nav options I'm thinking one might have to go for budgeting reasons so the question is, which one should I remove? Opinions please.

Would anyone recommend any other options/maybe swapping any options here? Thought I'd see what people thought.

Cheers

If budget is in question I would drop the black plus option and go for the nav and tow bar.

Drop satnav, get smartlink and use phone for satnav.

hello

i would keep the tow bar and sat nav,

and ditch the front parking sensors and leather seats.

maybe ad the canton sound system and variable floor

good luck deciding.

also white looks good but if you need a change maybe

meteor grey

I would ditch the leather seats but depends what you need the tow bar for. I imagine that is something you either need or don't need.

Sunroof, glad I had one fitted to the old Fabia..

another vote for the sunroof, makes the interior so much lighter and nice to open it up full in nice weather. It was expensive but I honestly don`t regret speccing it on my car

Wait a mo, 0% PCP is back on the vRS????

(Also has a '63 plate on the old 0% scheme..... this could end up costing me money lol)

Also, a phone works great as a Sat Nav....... Less great as a Tow Bar  :D

hello again

i would definitely have the tow bar especially if your ordering a factory built car.

after market tow bars can lead to electrical problems ,ive heard some horror stories

but the factory order tow bar is built i think into your canbus system.

also as its removable you only need to fit when required (takes 2 mins ).

you might not need it now but it can be so useful :-caravan,bike rack, trailer in the furture.

as for the canton system to which ive just listened to should also be a possible option.

my16 models have fibre optic cabling.

i had the dynaudio factory fitted in my mk7 golf and that was fantastic, the Canton is very

close.

i order my octavia estate vrs which i was told a build week 1st week september(not long now)

i ordered a

candy white vrs estate with options

tow bar

amundsen mib2 nav (i think its mib2)

Canton

standard black pack

variable floor

folding mirrors

colour maxi dot

sunset glass

spare wheel (a must )

smartgate

all on a 0%

happy days

another vote for the sunroof, makes the interior so much lighter and nice to open it up full in nice weather. It was expensive but I honestly don`t regret speccing it on my car

And a third for the sunroof  :sun: .

Then the opposite, the winter pack, heated screen, front seats and washer jets.

Also the auto dipping and folding door mirrors.

And finally as previously mentioned, the spare wheel and Canton.

Cheers for your opinions guys! Given me a bit to think about but I'll be honest, I've got my heart set on all those existing options I've chosen except for whether to keep Towbar or sat nav or go for both and push the boat out! I've got a good Garmin sat nav with European mapping and lifetime updates but I hate having to run the cable over the dash! I'm also led to believe that the Amundsen sat nav only comes with 2 or 3 years of free map updates and then you've got to pay for updates. Anyone know if this is true and what further updates would cost?

Also, I keep being told that should I move the car on earlier than planned, sat nav is highly desirable built in to a car. I also know I can get a Towbar fitted professionally at a dedicated towing equipment centre near where I live that local car dealerships use for their customers. Just to add more uncertainty into the mix, I now can't decide whether to go race blue or black magic paint! It's a straight choice between those two colours only. Aaaarghh! Help!

Race blue,

black does looks fantastic when it's clean, but drive it 10 mtrs down the road and it'll look dirty again!
