What was the VXR running?

Normal road summer tyres. Lowered on springs. Full exhaust system (decat) Yellow stuff pads. And A limited slip diff.

Thats it, no more power ect.. It goes well for what it is i think

Hope Dave and Ben aren't suffering any after effects from their visit into the tyre wall

Felt absolutely gutted for Dave, but in my book he definitely won quote of the day with.......

"I've only gone and f * cking binned it"

Hope the damage isn't too much of a setback, Dave

Just want to say thanks to everyone for coming and making it a fantastic day out despite the damp.

I love days like this when you can just get a bunch of car enthusiasts together and have fun.

Doesn't matter if you drive an R35, a Skyline, an ST, Skoda or anything else.

No forum or car club politics either, just a common interest.

We all love to have fun in our cars and the atmosphere of the day was brilliant, far better than a typical turn up and have a go track day.

Unfortunately there were a couple of incidents due to the damp, oil dropped by the Fiesta Cup car and people pushing on etc.

As the rain closed in I ditched the 680bhp Skyline as each corner was like driving on eggshells, a cm of throttle away from being completely sideways, taking to the 500bhp Yeti and blatting it around with four wheel drifts and doing passenger rides.

I hope you all enjoyed it, I certainly did.

Will you be organising another one in the new year?

I was heading for those tyres side on!! 2nd gear and standing on the throttle I got it back straight again.

I booted it as well which brought the front round a bit, that's why the left sides been scraped. Have a feeling if I left it alone I would have missed it.

Still, I shall be up for another one, but only when the sun is shining lol.

So I'm back home now after calling in at a body shop, quick quote gives a repair bill of around £1700 So I'm now waiting for Moris to call me back as at least the excess and admin fees should "only" be £875

Easier to get used panels on eBay and spanners out?

So what was this "excess insurance" you had then? Did that just bring it down to £875 or what?!

Looked and the excess insurance is if you send it in for them to do and it doesn't cost as much as the excess to fix then they don't pay out and you pay the cheaper repair price instead.

Probably not, the bonnet is a bit bent, the bumper is scuffed to hell and for some reason about 3/4 inch too far down, so possibly broken or bent something behind it, the wing is a gonner and is now touching the door and has subsequently taken the paint off where I've been getting in and out. The headlight needs replacing and possibly the fog light depending on how well it is clipped in. Then there is a chip in the windscreen that will be to fix as well and the tracking wants looking at. Don't think the tracking is out or anything, but best be safe than sorry. All in all I think it's a safer bet to go through the insurance and do it properly.
