VRS 4k revs max limit in 'Park'

Featured Replies

Vrs petrol. And was an oil burner until recently

I know VRS's give thr odd puff of smoke, but i didnt realise they were that smokey lol

My 5 year old 50,000 mile Stage 1 Twincharger was going to fail its 3rd MOT on emissions

due to being not even near what it should have been showing.

The Tester was assuming it was because of the De-cat. (which it is not)

The car was fully up to temp when it went into the test, but it was 40 minutes ticking over before the probe was up its jacksy.

The reading were the same as the previous tests, but then VW Group Dealerships do seem to have them sail through.

PS.

Smokey is nothing to do with it or oil burning.

Smoke is just soot isnt it? From running abit rich?

Try switching off the traction control then revving it

That does not let it rev above 4,000 rpm in Park.

My CTHE estate is up for MOT this week, this talk of emissions is concerning to say the least. I work opposite the MOT station so the engine will be cold prior to the test.

The car will be left with the engine running whilst the rest of the checks are carried out prior to the emissions test. The emissions are usually test last to allow time for the engine to warm up as it must be at a set temperature for the test to be valid.
