Name one thing that annoys you....

Featured Replies

With your Superb... Two part question for me....

Mine...

1. What annoys me:

Bluetooth... For some reason my Samsung Galaxy S3, my new Note 4 and a Note 3 I borrowed for some reason disconnect from "Premium" for no reason... Sometimes reconnects to "Premium" straight away, sometimes to HFP and sometimes not at all and I have to do it manually...

No idea why, completely random.. Even after the dealer changed the module for the latest "E" version.. it is better than it was with the "D" version but not perfect...

Maybe Samsung and Skoda have issues.....

2. What hand set do you have that ALWAYS connects to "Premium" and NEVER disconnects?

:)

Not strictly speaking on topic, cos mostly I am not annoyed by my car, BUT...

Why don't skoda build the SIII with the 190 motor, 4x4 AND a manual gearbox??!!

This annoys me as I will have to look for another marque when it comes for me to change my current 170 4x4 manual combi

I quite like the DSG in my 170 4x4 ... like the relaxed drive...

I must admit I would have gone for a manual straight away if the option had been available last year when I ordered my car, but now I have driven a DSG I am glad I did... :)

Another vote for the rear wiper here.

Glad they've fixed it on the MkIII, even at the sacrifice of the twindoor feature.

My TV dropping out and waiting for it to reboot, hopefully it will be fixed in a couple of weeks.

I can't answer your question but just wanted to say that I am having the exact same problem with my Note 3. I've had the "d" module in for about 18 months now but I can't say that that was when my problems started. In fact I can't put my finger on anything I've done or added that would cause the problem, it just seems to have randomly started. I starting to think it might be some software I've installed on the phone.

Exactly like mine, I collected the car, new in July, I am sure it worked perfect until about November time then just started with the disconnects, no reason for it, and random, can go 3 weeks perfect then start..

I also suspected an application but can't work out which if any...

The new module has improved it.. I really suspect a Samsung and Skoda bluetooth issue..

3C8035730E I'm using when i fitted my columbus & I'm using a standard samsung s6 not jailbroke with a virgin mobile sim card & I've got permant premium connection / from what I've read up it might depend on the service provider as i know some one with the same set up & phone but he is on the three network & he can't use premium.

The rear wiper which has started sweeping whenever I start the car.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr

That I can beat the gearchange indicator on Maxidot and have to lift off the throttle momentarily if I want the "reversed" 6 to become a normal 6

My note 3 is unlocked, not rooted and I`m with EE. It does seem that if it disconnects, after about 3 times it switches to handsfree mode and that seems to work better for me.

Having said that I drove all the way to Warrington today without any issues but on the return journey home (to Ormskirk) it was constantly losing connection.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr

I had that whenever I stopped the car (ignition off) without turning off the intermittent wipe mode OR after reversing into a parking spot. Since making sure I cancel the wipers before turning engine off its been fine (if a bit of a phaff).

No boot release button in the cabin..... I know it's an option on the combi but would have been nice in a car of this spec to have a release button as standard on both the twindoor and combi IMHO.

the cruise control being on that stick rather than the wheel itself

This thread shows we all expect different things from vehicles I guess

the cruise control being on that stick rather than the wheel itself

I have experienced both, having it on the stalk is MUCH more user friendly. Wheel mounted controls are fiddly and require more cognitive effort.

I do have long fingers so perhaps this makes a difference, but I find I can operate the stalk without moving my hand , particularly my thumb and forefinger from the prilmary position on the wheel, yet wheel, mounted controls require a much more deliberate movement of the wrist which is distracting. All IMHO

I think the issue is that some handsets/sim cards seem to not like the Premium bluetooth.. HFP is just basic handsfree so it works by using the handset as the phone rather than reading the SIM and the car becomes the phone..

Here's one from my wife, her pet hate on the superb is getting a text message through Bluetooth, not reading the message as she is driving, getting home, taking the key out of the ignition, checking her phone, and the text has gone!

Anyone know how to rectify this?

Cheers

Intrusion of the poorly padded centre tunnel on my left knee. Ouch!

If you go into the SMS option on the Columbus your message should still be there when connected via bluetooth ... If you go to the SMS option you can download the message to your phone... Not sure if this can be done automatically..

For me it was when we had the saloon version with that annoying twin opening system for the boot. The vast majority of the time we would want the full openning, not the little slot which meant two handle presses instead of one. And no way to change the priority to one press for the hatch and two for the slot. Mind you I liked the final little bit of powered boot closing.

Now we have an estate so that problem no longer exists. And we get a rear screen wipe.

I think the issue is that some handsets/sim cards seem to not like the Premium bluetooth.. HFP is just basic handsfree so it works by using the handset as the phone rather than reading the SIM and the car becomes the phone..

Yes you`re probably right. Thinking about it my problem seems to coincide with me switching my sim from T mobile to an EE one. I do like though that the Premium handsfree  boosts the signal.

Mine has disconnected twice, once yesterday and again today... Always connects as Premium on trip out, and on the way back home disconnects and connects as HFP ... pain in the backside really, I too like the boost in signal..

It has to be a Samsung/SIM/Network provider issue... Why do some have no issues?

As my module has been changed I can't think of anything else...

I have ordered a PAYG Virgin Mobile SIM as mentioned above, I will try that in my old Galaxy S3 as that is unlocked...

**NOTE**

I MUST remember to turn on my old Galaxy S3 on the odd occasion....60 App updates to do Lol

I would try it in the car now, but it has a "3" SIM in which from reading this site will not work anyway, so I will wait for the Virgin Mobile to arrive ...
