Tyres on Mark 3

Featured Replies

Unlucky mate.

My mk2 had these.

Noisey horrible things that get worse with age until you finally give in and replace them with something half decent :D

Tey will eventually wear out. Michelins next.

Turanzas are not that bad. May be an upgrade, may be differences caused to sizes. Dunno, tire noise isnt a question at the moment being.

Ive got winter wheels as well, at least M&S - spikes can be recommended in some areas - are compulsory here from November to end of March so hard rubber due to cold wont affect either.

They werent much liked by quite a few on the mk2 fabs.

Give it a search.

Mainly, you dont realise how quiet the car actually is until you get rid of the main noise culprit

Double post sorry

I take that as you dont like Turanzas? :D

Well, as said, no complaints. Mine are marked ER300, which were quoted as silent in a test. Ill let you know if the winter tires makes a noticable difference when that time comes. Think they are Nokias or Goodyears.

OTOH, on the noise subject my mkII Fab comfortably takes the prize as the noisiest car ever owned, that including a VW Bus "powered" by the famous 54 hp 1,6l diesel. An that Fab has Michelin tires, Dunlops when bought.

Looks like you get Bridgestones if you go for 16" or 17" wheels.

Dunlops on my SE L 1.2/110 Hatch with Rock 16"s. Ride quality is excellent and it feels as though it will be quite chuckable...but that's after only a coupleof hundred miles, so all very tight n'shiny.

mine are Bridestone Turanza on 16"

We went to the dealer's today to complete some of the paperwork, before collecting our new SE 110/DSG next week. I checked the name on the tyres to discover that they are 15 inch Nexens. I've read a number of reports on 15 inch Nexens. None of them are highly critical, although one report suggests that they won't wear as well as some other brands. The Continentals that we have on our current 62 reg Fabia are still legal after three years and 22000 miles. I will report on how well they work once the car has done a few miles.

16" Bridgestone Turanza's on our Monte Carlo. Had them on our 2012 Ibiza FR & they were noisy but with regular rotation lasted an incredible 28k!! We finally replaced them with Contisport 2's which were noticeably quieter. To be fair though the Bridgestones don't seem to be anything like as noisy on the Fabia, but I fear that once the tread is down under about 5mm they'll start to roar like they did on the Ibiza.

Picked up my SE 1.2 Tsi 110, SE trim with no fancy extras, 15" stock wheels, i got Nexen on, not really loud , but indeed louder than some Dunlops i had on the Mk1 Fabia.

Maybe youre deaf from the ibiza lol.

High mileage, low grip in winter conditions, noisey.. All signs of a hard rubber compound
