Ste's Saturday Shine - Fourthwax Summer Wax

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Back from our summer holiday and our 2 cars needed detailing - plus a pile of new samples to have a play with.

So thought to share a brief write-up on a couple of new waxes and another few bits and pieces. First one...

SWMBO's Seat Exeo has been brought up to spec recently and also new tyres due to be fitted Friday, MOT next week;

thereafter - alloys need a refurb then probably will be up for sale very soon.

That said - the Exeo hadn't turned a wheel in 18 days or so. So heavy pollen, dust and tree sap deposits all evident.

Thankfully no bird poo in that duration, but there was one small etch mark from an earlier incident - so I had the rotary out to correct this small area.

A typical foam, rinse and wash routine, but to elaborate:-

- ValetPro Citrus Pre-wash mix on lower panels

- Bilt Hamber Snow foam

- Wheels with Defintive Decon 88 and WoWo wheel mitt

- Rinse

- Wash with Dooka pad and DC Car care shampoo from the last Waxpack

- Rinse

- Spray with diluted Meguiars Last Touch mix 10:1

- Dry with Big Yellow towel

- Door shuts, exhausts and alloys, wipedown with Definitive QD Pro.

- Tyres with Definitive Tyre Dressing

- Waxed with Fourthwax Summer; applied with AF Handi-puck+wax pad.

This wax is only available as sample pots for now - during this early release trial period. Official launch is planned 2016.

Thanks to Craig Law and Dan Wilson for getting samples out to test

I haven't heard anything on expected price point for this as yet - but I will update when I get some news on this.

This is a hard wax, seemed to hardly use any on the whole car in fact. The 30ml sample pot will last a while; smells great too.

I applied the wax using another product under test - the Auto Finesse Handi-puck with Farecla 3" wax pad fitted.

Really impressed with this - made application very easy and a nice thin layer of wax put down.

Panel temp was a bit hotter than I would have liked, but this posed little or no issue on the day.

Recommended to be applied 1 or two panels at a time with a relatively short cure time expected.

Buffed off with extreme ease, it has to be said and left a lovely deep gloss on the black magic paint. :sun:

Perhaps not as slick a finish as I have seen with some waxes recently; but perhaps I'm being picky here.

Anyway - the pictures below..... I didn't take too many as I have limited storage on the phone after holiday pics etc;

but you get the idea....  thanks for looking

Sample pot passed to Alan (blueR36) for his test and opinion.

Hey Ben - good to hear from you buddy.

The holiday was fantastic. Really enjoying Portugal trips - both north and south regions.

Looking forward to retiring there i think....

But yeah - for sure - i was itching to get detailing on return.

Some great products coming through maybe a bit late in the season - but all good fun.

I trust you and your lovely lady had a good holiday as well

The Seat Exeo covered a huge 700miles this weekend heading down to London, Windsor and back home.

So it's collected quite a bit of dirt and fly debris over the journey.....

Looking forward to getting it setup for a wash and review to see how Fourthwax Summer protection performs.

Look forward to the results buddy.

Just tried to use mine but the temp in the panels is far to hot unfortunatly. Still time before summer does a runner!!

Yeah - cracking day today.... the last of Summer I guess!

Have a look on the AngelWax QED thread Karl - the Seat Exeo wash was an absolute breeze after the 700 mile trip.

Fourthwax Summer seemed to perform really well. The grime, insects and crud fell off in the wash routine.

A quick QD top up for now..... car looks fab.

Sailed through it's MOT yesterday as well - no issues or advisories.

Looking well mate! Good news on the MOT aswell!

Just to mention - the early 30ml field trial pots have gone well for the Fourthwax crew....

So an early release batch of Summer 200ml is due before Xmas - rather than Spring 2016.

Thought to share the info for anyone interested in the brand/product.... certainly one i'll use again.
