I've had a diesel Scout for ten days and I am averaging 52mpg. Admittedly I don't do boy racing.

For some reason I can't edit my previous post - I meant manual, not diesel!!

I think ( but not 100% ) that you can only edit posts if you are a Freedom member.

Although of course it is diesel too... I'll get my coat...

My Scout (184 DSG) is 2 weeks old and averaging 43mpg (on board read out)

Wee bit disappointed, my mk3 150 gave an easy 55mpg, hopefully will improve as the mileage increases

47mpg from dsg driven sensibly most of the time. Drops a bit over 70 on the motorway. Upto 58mpg in 50 limit motorway roadworks. 38 or so on windy roads with the gearbox in sport.

Over 8,500mls av 44.5mpg   184 DSG.  Less than I expected, but then again it don't half go!! :sun:

thanks guys i did think mid to high 40s is still a good mpg any manual scout guys want to add in for a comparison cheers

Had the manual Scout for two months and 1700 miles. I have climate control on 'auto' and the drive mode at 'normal' pretty much all the time. I usually get between 42 and 53 mpg depending on traffic conditions (long term averaging at 48 mpg).

After 2 months I'm at around 42 mainly running in town.

Saw 55 mpg heading to london. Really quite pleased.

Manual Scout which is nearly 4 months old with 4100 miles on the clock. Long term average of 49.7mpg. 80% of that mileage was two summer trips to France, fast A roads and motorway. Car was reasonably loaded up, air con working hard most of the time. One trip was of an Alpine nature and therefore hit the fuel consumption hard, but A roads (70 mph ) pulled it back. Gentle local trips get 52-54 mpg.

The good bit, diesel was 76p a litre whilst in France

Just got a manual Scout - only had it for 5 days, but I'm averaging 50mpg - just a little town driving, almost all mileage is at an even split of A roads (at 60mph) & dual carriageways (at 70mph).

Average of all above is 47MPG

That's about what I got at 91.000 miles and now at 130.500 miles I'm getting about 35MPG. Even asking mechanics about it I don't get anything close of an answer why. Dropping it off at a shop to look into it could end up paying for nothing that will fix it, so...

I've just tried some injector cleaning agent as well as DPF cleaning agent in my last fill up, so I'll just see if that does anything or not. I know that it can be hard to diagnose faults without having a look at the car, but I've only been looking at getting pointers to where to start looking. Even asking about the functionality of the DPF at my local shop makes me feel like I'm looking at monkeys just scratching their head and wanting me to just leave them alone. I refuse to just drop off my car at a shop without having a feel for what it could be and how much it could cost as well. That's like giving someone a gun and ask them to rob ya, point blank.
