And why is that?

This is a non Skoda thread [emoji4]

Just trying to inject some light humour, hence the smiley...

but TBH, each to their own. It'd be a dull world if we all liked the same. :)

Took the private plate off it and put on it's original plates.

Now a painless process all online and £45 cheaper than it used to be to put a plate on retention.

The Passat will be sold soon and replaced with a yeti.

So that will be Yeti, Octavia and Fabia on the drive and no option to post on this thread anymore. ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

Spent a small fortune on a spare wheel kit for the Mazda.

Madness that cars don't come with spares but at least it has a small wheel well to take one.

Don't even have it yet, bet I get a puncture tomorrow.

Something I'm going to have to do but they're quite cheap for the CT/Prius. They share the same wheel. Only problem is I don't have a well to put it in [emoji19]

What?????

Rim, tire, tire fitting, jack, wrench, new under tray, restraining bolt, warning sticker, some other stuff I can't recall.

Either that or a can of gunk and a new tyre every time you run over a nail.

realised the civic has leaked into the boot from somewhere in last night's torrential rain - think it's the rear lights...

Today I was investigating a bottom end knock on my Cat C Fiesta project, hoping I'd bet away with just replacing the big end bearing shells.

However, upon striping it (in the car!):

- There were flakes of white-metal in the sump - not good

- Having taken the bearing cap off for one cylinder, I could see that the bearing shells had spun

- I found the source of the metal flakes, they were missing from the inside of the bearing shell.

I didn't take any further bearing caps off as it is obvious the crank is fubared so I have have to decide what to do!

Bolleaux. I'd start with a cup of tea and a KitKat. Then start sourcing a new crank.

Indeed, I've had a glass of squash and a Rocky biscuit, so close enough!

A new crank might well be the way to go...

and I'm not enjoying driving a hire  Mundano whilst the £4k job is being done .. I've been out in the other one some more   B)

Did a run from Greenwich via Clacket lane to Pevensey bay for fish n chips , then through Eastbourne and up to Beachy Head for sunset , a blast towards Brighton and a double tunnel run then Brighton marina for a coffee before heading home , went with some other old bangers  :D

Pic 10 mins after accident , other traffic filtering past , me going straight over junction , her turning right into me.
