Can decide - Meteor Grey or Metal Grey ?

Featured Replies

I'm trying to decide on what color to order my VRS in... Meteor Grey or Metal grey.

Any thoughts ? i like both and can't decide!

Whenever I've seen metal grey in the flesh it's kind of looked boring (it was originally on my short list) same with the metallic red :(

I'd say meteor grey.

However it's your car, only you can decide....

If you ever want to sell the car, I'd say Metal Grey.

I don't think Colour will be as important on a vrs as a standard octy. Vrs have a reputation for being a bit bonkers and brash so potential buyer is more likely to want something that stands out from the crowd

They do. It's the lemon yellow that was given the boot.

Oh, it's gone from the online configurator... Maybe its only available on request?

Nope, it was discontinued a while, last year IIRC.

^ just checked. Didn't know that. That's another excuse for knocking £££ off when it comes to trade in.

White!

I chose meteor grey and am really pleased with it despite all of the expected comments / jokes , it did rain for 43 days after I took delivery of  it, 2 people have already hit it whilst attempting to park / turn their cars, the last time this happened the car was 4' inside my drive also someone else has opened their door onto one of my doors, it maybe the colour can't be seen by certain persons !

I don't expect to have any problem selling my car because the colour makes it that little bit more unique and individual. :)

But on topic, I like both, but Meteor would swing it for me  B)

Metal Grey, that almost gunmetal colour is smart & looks sharp and quite understated.

That's the one I'll be ordering (all being well) next year.

There's a yellow vRS for sale in the Skoda dealer in Harlow.........

I didn't say they never made any, I said it's been discontinued so it's not available to order.

Can you get Pacific Blue? This is the under rated colour IMO.

It shines up well looks classy and understated.

If it's not an option then I would choose metal grey as it works well against any Black trim.

Meteor grey looks poor as if it is an undercoat, and an unfinished job.

Don't worry, I'm sure that you are correct, but if anyone want's a yellow vRS they might get a good price, it's been there for a while.....

(No I don't work there, we were potential customers for a while.)

I suggest that you go & configure a vRS and then select the black package as one of the options which includes the 19" wheels and I think it looks absolutely stunning!

Do they still do Petrol blue, I saw a superb in that and it's lovely.

stig555,

you have to drive it and like it ;)

I have a metal grey, on the plus side: looks absolutely brilliant when clean, and even better in th sunshine. pretty understated but very nice and classy. On the bad side: it looks dirtier a lot quicker than other colours as the shine goes very fast. And the front bumper design of the VRS (with the two fins) gets lost a bit.

We also looked at the meteor grey when we ordered: On the plus side it looks very different, grey but not too classic, the fins in the bumper show better (still not as good as blue or white). On the bad side: it somewhow looks unfinished, much more like a primer. And according to my dealer it's a pain to keep it clean since you will see swirls much more noticeably than on other colours. I pass one every day on the way to the train station: when it's not very clean it looks very dull (not boring but absence of shiny) and looks so much quicker than for example my white Scirocco.

So I'd go for green or blue ;) as those are the colours that my "heart" wanted to go for, but SWMBO didn't like either so we got the metal grey.
