Dmf

Featured Replies

Hi.my clutch and possibly the dmf are knackered. Clutch has slipped a couple of times lately plus I have been getting a rattle on start up for a while. Has anyone had the lot changed at a dealership and if so how much did it cost? I need to decide whether it's worth doing or just scrap the car. It's a 56 plate vrs petrol with 114k on the clock. Would be a shame to scrap it because it's a very tidy car and drives really nicely but if the clutch is too expensive to replace I would have to consider it

Problem I have is that I don't know of a local garage I can trust, have had quite a few issues with people who've done work for me over the years. Figured that if a dealership ***** up you have skoda UK to fall back on. If anyone knows an independent preferably in the Midlands that will be 100% certain to do a good job please let me know. Have used a place in rugby that seemed clueless and another in Staffordshire that were better but not

brilliant since owning the skoda.

You have Pm.

I had mine done at Clock Garage, (ex Skoda) Notts / Derby area via the garage that I purchased the car from. The faulty DMF was noticed on the test drive and sent to Clock Garage for a replacement.

I did not have the clutch done, but got Skoda headed paper for the receipt for the DMF.

No issues since and purchased / work done in Feb 2011.

First reply was a good one - I am sure you can find a good independent garage who specialise in VAG cars. At that age and mileage it's not worth going to a main dealer. I know it's possible to convert to a single-mass flywheel, too.

For what it's worth, my 2012 2.0 Tdi has been at the dealers for 6 weeks now waiting for a new clutch and DMF. But since it only has 30,000 miles on it, Skoda will pay for all the parts out of their goodwill, and I only pay for 30 percent of the labour. I should, hopefully, get it back on Monday.

Just got the DMF, clutch and slave cylinder done on the VRS. LUK kit. Was £800 from an Indy mechanic. Nice and smooth and no clutch slip.

My local skoda dealer quoted very similar to most local mechanics when I looked. All around the £800 mark

If you wanted to try a smf conversion pm me

First cold start this morning and the difference is amazing, as well as no rattle the lumpy running which I had assumed was just the engine being 'on choke ' has gone. Overall the car is much smoother and feels half of its 9 years.
