2015 Name That Car Game pt2

at the risk of disrupting the "competition", perhaps you can assist me in identfying a car I saw yesterday

it looked a bit like a leaf from the front, a bit bulbous, and the side reminded me of an old style accord tourer, though I don't know if you would call it a hatch or an estate

the rear had a very flat/vertical and rectangular screen , above what looked the prow of a boat - pointy coming in from the sides

I thought it might be a mitsubishi, but Numberplate search has it coming back as an "unknown toyota" from 2003.

Maybe a Mirai? As I googled the reg plate and it said that the reg nr was given in 2003, the Toyota mentioned was from 2014. 2014 the Mirai was introduced and the sales started.

Happy to oblige on weird Japanese schizzle. I didn't read all the description on the other thread and just thought flat rear screen? Toyota Will Vi, it was only later I read the boat prow bit and thought Will VS

Lanchester 14 (1953) it is - and in those years more or less a rebranded Daimler as I understand it:

I had never heard of a car named Lanchester until I read Le Carrés latest book, "The Pigeon Tunnel". But frantic googling reveals that there should be five of them here in Sweden.

Ah, was surprised to see the Irish plates on that. I see on that website that it's been sold - so it may be back in the UK. Lovely original car, with its paperwork from new. Only made 2 grand. Maybe it needs more than the "minor adjustment of the gear linkage" they mention in the advert.

Ok .. came across this ... see how it goes ...

Ha ha .. so, so close !!  (Again...)

Got to give it to you though !!

The photo is actually a Tickford Healey. The "saloon".   The Abbott Healey,  the drophead.  Fronts seem to be almost Identical.

Such a beautiful car, there was a gorgeous red one at Goodwood Revival in the Motor Show display last month.
