How many 3.6 V6 Superbs are there

My 1.6 Greenline sounds like an electric whisk so I wouldn't fret

Suppose that makes my 1.4 an electric toothbrush.

If I wasn't doing so many miles I would have liked a v6 facelift

Following that logic, the 1.0 engine would be the Tesla Roadster equivalent ... :D

These are rare in my parts (maybe even non-existent), if I really wanted to, I could import one from i.e. Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland .. or even Germany, Italy ... BUT, since we have import taxes on cars (even though we're in the EU, and which aren't formally called a tax, but that's what they amount to), I would be paying some 40-50% of the car's price to bring it in (CO2 emission, new car's price, and some other things that make up for the calculation equation) ... the math quickly goes down the drain ...

These are now slowly becoming rarer by the day. There were never plenty to begin with..yea, you could get one of the many Passats with the same engine, but whoever thought that the Superb all lowered(it sits lower than the standard Superbs), beefed up (engine-wise) and kitted out with AWD could be such a different beast.

The NA engine mated to that gearbox is a contributor in no small part to that sport sedan vibe.Values may well be on the rise in a while, considering these are indeed rarer than standard vRSs.

Hello,

I've just bought a facelift sedan/hatch (depending on which button you press on the bootlid) 3.6 and so far am absolutely loving it.

I've not even begun to explore the depths of its capabilities but so far just playing with the thing I've found it to be everything I wanted - an utterly under the radar weapon.

It really is like Jekyll and Hyde to me - leave it in drive and it'll waft myself and the family around in comfort and space with over 30mpg on a decent run, but drop the excellent DSG box back into 'Sport' mode and its character is transformed, growling its way to the red line in each gear and causing the odd dropped jaw on the faces of pilots of tailgating Audis/Beemers & the like. ;)

I absolutely adore the whole 'Q' car nature of the V6 - only the quad exhaust tips and the teensy '4x4' badge on the bootlid give the game away to those in the know & the rarity factor just adds to that.

It's a perfect replacement for a couple of RS Octavias which I've had over the last few years - one petrol, one diesel - and whilst it's not an everyday commuter car due to the drinking habit particularly around town it'll certainly get enjoyed at weekends and on trips out.

I'm looking forward to trying to spot another one on the road but the only ones I used to know of round my neck of the woods belonged to the local constabulary..

Still loving my 2013 Skoda Superb II FL 3.6 V6 FSI 4x4 hatch up here in windy and wind-ey Scotland! Though I am coming closer and closer to upgrading the stock suspension set-up...

Nice - keep us posted on any suspension mods won’t you?

@bfg_hightower I am very much thinking the same. Mine is slightly older than yours and I'm sorta thinking a little refresh would be nice...

Service is due in abut 500 miles but I am a little concerned about what the next year holds so I've been putting it off so far. Tempting to combine the two things though.

Did you have a kit in mind?

Cheers,

Steve

Not sure yet, Steve. Trying to get recommendations was a main reason for joining Briskoda but so far only had a link to Bilstein B16s which seems a bit too far towards track-day

https://www.bilstein.com/us/en/product/bilstein-b16/ or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Genuine-BILSTEIN-Road-Coil-Springs-Shock-Absorbers-Suspension-Kit-48-231954/192436738222?fits=Car+Make%3ASkoda|Model%3ASuperb&hash=item2cce1f98ae:g:~sgAAOSwy1NaaItf .

I'm convinced there's got to be a middle ground. Still doing some research.

There are a couple of 3.6 projects which were documented on Briskoda https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/209-superb-projects/ in particular by members spk; Leon-y-k; Chunk11; Deano1927

In a post from August vborovic mentioned upgrading brakes to a TRW/Brembo combo. cssuk apparently had the Passat B6 and can comment on the difference in the way it handles - reckons that "stiffer dampers and bushes should cure it and maybe a slightly larger wheel ie 19s with a drop of 1 inch on standard rate springs".

Bilstein also do a B14 (47-127708) kit for the V6 Superb and a B16 (48-135245) kit. You can also create what would be effectively a B12 kit if you bought the B8 shocks and Eibach (E10-79-007-01-22) springs.

I'd suggest you double check the part numbers before buying...

Not sure if these links will work:

Thanks langers2k! There's also this set-up: https://www.dcperformance.co.uk/cheap/250791/skoda/koni-sport-suspension-kits/1140-1626.html

Well I'm the spk mentioned in your post @bfg_hightower and I've researched a fair but rather but done little. I've started a reply to your other recent post but then had to go to work.

B16 was exactly what I was thinking about but it's quite spendy compared to other options. B14 might be another option, but extra adjustment to fine-tune it to an uncommon platform is appealing. I only want to go with the 30mm drop offered by these kits because I think I may have issues scraping especially in the work multi-story.

Well that's embarrassing. So you are!  (sorry)

tbh, I have tried to engage with three different reputable garages around my area to provide advice/insights, but have had no one return my calls or emails. If I can speak to someone who knows about these things and get some help, I will of course share.
