Octavia Estate - Warning Triangle Space and High Vis Vests

Featured Replies

So I finally collected my Octy after a bit of a saga and was wondering if anyone knows the following:

 - Should the UK cars come with high vis jackets (There are spaces but none there and dealer had none in any cars, even new ones just off the trailer)

 - If it doesn't does anyone know where you can buy ones that fit the two under seat cubby holes.

Also I have a warning triangle from a MK2 that I purchased from skoda. It used to fit in a little cubby hole on the trim under the boot on the MK2 hatch, and it's there on the MK3 hatch too.

My question is, where on earth is this on the MK3 estate as the hole isn't there and I can't find anywhere for the warning triangle.

If it's different, does anyone have a part number.

Thanks

There are straps on the RH side of the boot for it and no you don't get a high Vis.

My warning triangle sits in the same place in my MKIII as it did on my MKII.

I have some rubber straps, they were there when I bought the car.

No HV vests as they arn't a legal requirement in the UK, neither is the Triangle

The hatch has it in the same place as the MK2, but the estate is different.

I think I've found the part number: GGA700001A

You can buy hi vis jackets most motor factors & elsewhere very cheaply - just fold them to fit the cubby boxes, which is what I did.

You can have my HV Vest if you like, little used but it's got the Company logo on the back.

It's a loverly shade of bright orange with reflective silver strips

£3.50 delivered from CPC.

I don't know if it's the same size as the Skoda triangle, but mine came from a French Hypermarket and fits neatly in the straps in the offside compartment behind the wheel arch. (MY16 Scout.)

We get a Hi Viz and warning triangle supplied by the Leasing Company as our Company stipulates it under H&S regs, Dog Guard too.

I managed to fold the ones i had and they fit fine.

I'll just have to keep my eye out for a triangle that fits, as there in no way i'm paying the best part of £20 for one.

Failing that, velcro is my friend.

My triangle goes under the variable floor along with the first aid kit, spare bulbs and other items to avoid an extortion bid by French police, they just slosh around in there...

Triangle was about £3 from Home Bargains and fits perfectly in the straps/cutout in the boot of the estate. First Aid kit was from the same place but bought a while ago (used to be in my Octy 2).

6.50 from the local motor factors... Exactly the same as the one in audi avants.

Ebay provided me with some very inexpensive high viz vests that fit under the seat.    My car only has a cubby hole on the drivers side.

AFAIK older VAG triangles come in three sizes, the small thin one fits in the place made for the Skoda one in the estate. I have one out of an old Audi and it fits in fine, the triangle seems a bit better and sturdier than the new green-box Skoda one in case you ever actually have to use it, guess that's progress and weight saving

Wish I had kept mine now, but hey ho.

I've got one that fits in there and the more solid and larger one that fits under the boot floor now. At least I'm covered in spain.

As for the high vis, some careful folding on previous ones that had just gone in the underseat box resolved the issue.
