Fabia I cruise retrofit T11a/T11b

Featured Replies

Yesterday evening I started to retrofit cruise control in friends 2001 Fabia 1.9 TDi. Everything went well, did everything except white wire to ECU, I could not find where is the T11a or T11b (looks like it depends on car) connector located. I cant find where is that section of connectors in the car. Googling helped with good guides but with missing photos on the place where T11a is. Does anybody have a picture of the place where is it?

I've seen this post and I just don't get it. :wall: In a diagramm there seeems that the connector box is right behind instrument panel. I removed instrument panel (speedometer, tachometer etc block), but there is nothing like that. Is that switchbox is burried somewhere deeper under upper dashboard, that can't be seen looking under the dashboard or by removing instrument panel? How do you get to it?

I haven't fitted one myself but i know someone who might be able to help.........

You need to extend the wire into the engine compartment and connect to the ECU connector (solder the wire on) I believe.

That's how I remember doing it about 3 years ago on my Cordoba 1.9.

That's the connection point behind the dashboard. It's up above the brake and clutch pedal. You can't access it from behind the instrument cluster.

How can I gain access to that panel in the picture?

As I said, reach up above the clutch and brake pedal.

Its easier to get the lattice/framework of wiring out the way isn't it?

You can't really see if too well until all of that is unclipped out the way but then you have clear access, from memory. It sort of unclips downwards, from memory making access to the bulkhead.

If you are struggling that much beyond that, you probably need an expert in! Or just go the white wire from the ECU like so many do (that is what PhilE is eluding to). Its well past dealer warranty days now, so direct connection to the bulkhead wiring presumable isn't so important as what it was for me.

There was a guide on the old Fabia-VRS site, you might still find it on a site archive somewhere

Will 1J1 970 011F fit on my 1.4 mpi ?

Will 1J1 970 011F fit on my 1.4 mpi ?

No

Why do you say that ?

You must have to be a contortionist to do this job?

I don't really get it :D I've already purchased the lever along with the harness. Will it be impossible due to hardware limitations or it is a PITA to fit ?

The kit you posted is for a MK4 Golf/MK1 Octavia, the wiring is different.

Part and parcel of being a technician.

Could you tell me which would be the correct kit for my car ? The seller told me it's fine with both Fabia&Octy, petrol and diesel.

BEA400002

Thank you!
