to anybody that has fitted (themselves) cruise control to their octavia i would be interested to know if the wiring from the engine ecu and the connector in the bulkhead was there because i have just done one on a 1.8t and it wasn't so i had to make one up.

I'm pretty sure my 2002 1.8T 4X4 didn't come with that bit of wiring... redface.gif

he he

So it was not as straightforward as hoped then... I could bring over the vRS for you to have a look?

Yep, you need to make up a little loom adaptor of your own :D Well, what do you expect, its a VW TDI part you are trying to fit to a 1.8T

;)

The frustrating thing about this is that the column stalk is common to all Octavias with cruise control. It came through the Skoda parts network as did the wiring loom from stalk to engine compartment - but the latter (which came from the same source) is for a TDi-engine Octavia. Does that make sense or what?

the stalk and wiring loom is common to ALL octavias but for some reason they fit the loom between ecu and bulkhead to the diesels and not the petrols now that makes alot of sense then doesn't it?

ps. i WILL be talking to skoda about this one.
