Subaru to Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Hi All

I moved to Wales due to work comitments and the motorway driving was ripping my bank balance in My UK300 - took it to Marlborough in London and they gave me a Fabia VRs and some cash in return for my Subaru limited edition. Now I can get to Scotland on one tank of fuel rather than three. :)

I hope to find the Skoda online community as pleasent as the Subaru.

welcome, and you're not the first suburu to vRS convert! :)

Thank goodness for that - The jokes from friends for weeks was hard to put up with. Good to know i'm not the only one!!!

The previous owner of my car chopped in an Imprezza for it... couldn't handle 23mpg  After having my Octy vRS he changed it....... for another Octy vRS !!

kill their jokes with things like "more torque than a porche boxterS" and I beleive (in at least one gear lol!) the mid-range 50-70 ish, is quicker in the vRS than the scooby ! ;)

research the figures on here and you'll find em somewhere!

welcome m8

I came from an 03 WRX PPP across to a Fab vRS, no complaints yet and this place is a mine of useful info

I too had a WRX and have no regrets about getting the Skud.

Welcome.

Welcome! Another ex-Scooby owner here, but you could have probably guessed that from my name. ;)

Chris

hi, i'm another, changed 5 weeks ago from a MY00 turbo.

i miss the traction and acceleration out of corners, but averaging 400+ miles a week i don't miss searching for optimax/SUL ;)

the VRS is the sensible choice without being too sensible. :)

Hello and welcome, as you can see there's lots of people who have made the same swap that you have!

Hi from another ex Scoob owner

And by the money you've just saved, if you wanted to, you could get the handling sorted, brakes sorted & a little fiddling with the ECU will get you even better performance.

Unfortunately I didnt save any money as I went from Rover 100  but still slowly working towards doing the rest :D

Welcome to the site :)

Hello there, been with my vrs for 2 months from my wrx95 280 bhp, Love the VRS great car but do still miss the burble if IM honest

Blimey

Are Subaru selling any cars?

Hi and welcome mate.

What a good choice you have made.

I started working for Skoda 6 years ago.

My son said no to me having a company car.

But then he changed his mind when the Octavia vRS came out.

So yes the jokes have gone!

Have fun on this site as it is very imformative and fun.

Sarah

Welcome. :D

Thanks to all for the warm welcome - as for modifications They will come with time - I spent alot of money on my subaru but couldn't get rid of the horrible turbo lag - with the Vrs it's pretty instant!

Again - thanks and I hope to go to the Nurburgring in 2006 (if you are organizing one) with you guys.

Regards

Gareth

Welcome! If only my octavia vRS sounded like a scooby I would be a happy man.

Have a visit to Blue Flame, not quite the same as a scoob but pretty good.

When I led the last leg of the cannonball back to the UK Hotel (10 Mins ahead of the rest in a Skoda !!) The opinion at the Hotel as they heard the car approaching was that it was a Supra on full chat

i too had a scooby, wrx type ra jap import to be exact with approx 320bhp.

now i have a fabia vrs, and havent looked back. sure i miss the burble and performance.

anyways, enjoy.

Hi previously had an STi V4 impreza.

some peenars3 came up to me in the gym and was like "Oh my god, wtf you changed your impreza for a 'skoda' for" :(

Evo 7 to Furby VRS.

Best decision i ever made.

cheers

Lee

And another.

In fact I had a modded UK300, Anthracite wheels Powerstation treated in the breathing dept aswell as suspension

You have a better car all round. I wouldn't swap my fab RS for many 'production' cars, Impreza included, Limited Edition or not.

I had a 1994 Impreza Turbo previously - though have to admit a Freelander V6 came before the Fabia vRS

You need to "downgrade" the Octy to unequal length headers ;)
