Skoda Classic parts directly from Czech Republic

Recommended Posts

Last weekend I emailed my friend from Czech Republic and (among other things) I mentioned to him the difficulty of sourcing (some) parts for Skoda Classic cars in the UK. He has been sending all kind of parts to me when I couldn't find them locally or the quality of materials was very poor. He works as a mechanic and he is a very serious, knowledgeable, and thrustworthy guy. I've informed him also that there are many enthusiast Skoda Classic owners that love their cars and try to keep them in top shape.

I've asked him if he would be interested to send car parts for Skoda Classic in the UK by mail in his spare time. As you may know, Czech online shops do not ship car parts to UK. He agreed for the most part but he asked me what kinds of parts people are interested of. So I created this topic as a bridge for cooperation between him and you. If there will be enough interest and with approval from forum moderators, my friend will register to the forum and will reply personally to all your unknowns and/or requests. I think that everybody could benefit from such initiative in the long term as long as a reliable payment and shipping process will be established.

Please post your opinions and suggestions.

I think this is a great idea, I've tried numerous times to get parts for Favorits shipped over from Czech and never had any joy. I really don't know why they are all so averse to posting to the UK!

I don't think they have something against the UK in particular. They ship stuff only to neighbouring countries. It may have something to do with shipping taxes. Try this: go to your local post office and ask how much it costs and how long it takes to deliver a 10 kg package to Czech Republic by various mail (ground, fast courier, air, etc.) That will clear up many unknowns.

I have been looking at parts in Czech asked about shiping to Ireland was told to order part of on line store and then they would work out shiping costs so buy parts and then it's up to get them?? It could cost more then the parts to get ship home. As your mate any contacts for motorsport parts

There are 640 miles (1030 km) between Prague and London by air and 800 miles (1280 km) by road or train. That is a given, can'r change that. It is the country of origin of our cars and we know the best parts are made in Czech R. or Slovakia. The offer of parts is also the broadest. If the shipping price is not a ripoff due to some greedy transporting companies or some weird cusrom taxes, then that's it. It is what it is. The parts for Classic Skodas are the cheapest compared to other Skoda models.

No worries. mate. I didn't feel knocked in any way. I've only tried to get closer to real figures on shipping price for a standard, let's say, 5 kg package. Just to have a rough idea what costs are involved. My friend (Lugosy) mentioned something around 15 Euro to ship a 5 kg package to UK in 2-3 days max. I have no idea if that is a fair price for that distance. He will tell you more about it as soon as people express enough interest. He knows exactly where to order original parts at best price. But so far it looks there is low interest although many expressed concerns about local dealers not interested anymore to get parts for classic Skodas

I'm surprised that more people aren't interested in this as it appears that it could be a good source for hard to find parts. I don't think that price for shipping seems too out of the way either, especially for such a quick delivery.

BTW, if never hurts to have another knowledgeable person on this forum so ask Lugosy to join up anyway.

After I created this topic I gave him the link and advised him to read the comments daily. He will be very pleased to read your invitation. Having a new Czech guy on the forum will be cool for sure. By the way, about half of the photos I shared with you guys come from him. I have only edted and annotated them for better understanding. As for having somebody in Czech R that knows the language, knows exactly what to order and from where at best price, I find that priceless.

Hi all and RicardoM. Thank you for inviting me. I have registered to answer all your questions about Czech parts for Skoda Classic (from older Skodas to Felicia). Please let me know what stopped you buying parts from here and how can we build an efficient trade of parts from people to people.

Please excuse my bad English :-)

Hey Lugosy, welcome!

I encourage everyone to trust his technical advice. Lugosy knows a lot about Czech parts, about Skoda history and about repairs.

As he mentioned above, he is quite upset that UK part dealers decided to ignore some requests for parts from owners of Skoda Classic cars, although in Czech R. there are plenty of stock parts, tuning parts, and rally parts. Hopefully a path for cooperation will be discovered. I'm thinking for instance at somebody in UK having a truck or a van that can take a list of orders and make regular trips to meet Lugosy that will get you everything that is on Czech market at best price. I am sure you'll find a smooth and equitable way for doing such small trade.

Thank you for all welcomes in a board :-) How write Ricardo (thank you for propagation of me). When from GB going camion to CZ (Moravia or Silesia), that is very, very good channel for parts transport. Low cost money channel. Big plus for you. Because post (company Czech Post) transport is killer for easy sending of parts. Classic Skodas in GB and IRL must not die! This is war between cardiac lowers classic Skodas against the dealers, who see only money :-))

Hi Charlie,

is only one producent, who known work individual amortizers and springs for Felicia. Mr. Ota Hušek, firm HP Sporting. Into 1991 he working as solution specialist in czechoslovakian producent Autobrzdy Jablonec nad Nisou in section Amortizers. From 1991 he is tradesman. I driving 156000 km his yellow coilover set Sporting in Felicia Hatchback. Set is for normal driving, have 3 or 4 levels markdown (2/3/4 cm F, 1,5/3/4,5cm R or 3/4/5/6 cm F, 3/4,5/6cm R), and its very great. Just hard (70% harder than serial), and working delightfully drive ability. Are only 3 better degrees from HP. HP Training, Racing and HP individual. From HP you get all in one set. Set working without all errors. In Octavia I have Sporting too. Is only one diferrence between Felda and Octavia in Sporting sets (I dont consider differency option in amortizers). For Octavia is stainless steel suspension tube, for Felicia is ferro with comaxit.

See here, all czech language: HP Sporting - http://hpsporting.cz/ click to Sporting, first is Felda training, and 1x right arrow is Favorit, Forman, Felda Sporting, 2x R arrow is Octavia Sporting.

Here is web with Felda HP Sporting: http://jmjm.cz/clanky-skoda-felicia-1300-mpi-pruzici-jednotky-hp-sporting.php

Drive ability HP Sporting - best

HP training - better the best

HP Racing - ultra better than best

I testing HP Sporting in Ecce Homo track all the time, when I ride the track. No as racer, I only love speedly riding. Track is in road, which is from my house to Olomouc city. Tyres Michelin very whistled in all curves, but Felda is confidential in track, and skid dont work never.

When I want to order Czech parts, I look in this website: http://www.cc-autodily.cz/

Another good site is http://www.amd-autodily.cz/

You just insert the part code in search box on the left. Prices are in Czeck Crowns and in Euro.

1 Euro = 27 Kc

1 GBP = 37.43 Kc

Except your first item, the rest are in stock. But I am sure Lugosy knows where to get every part from.

Hey all boys and girls :-)

Thank you, Ricardo. This is two relevant links for price and ability info. When is part no in this links, so it is not able to buy, because is not in warehouse and production of this part is ended few years ago.

Wirings for comfort doors. In CZ is only low pieces with all fabric comfort systems. Here is cheaper working this individualy home made. Example. In central door locking with radio driving in fabric was cca 5-6 thousands crowns plus. Individual was cca 2500CZK - czech solution and made Jablotron CL306FL, set without drilling (CL306FB was for Fabia I - here is actual offering, but time is different, and individual central locks products are in recessing - http://www.jablotron.com/cz/katalog-produktu/autosortiment/ovladani-a-parkovani/centralni-zamykani/). Mounting only one day at home, and quality is very great and lifetime big longer than carroseria. Original with alarm is italian system Meta, servis very costly (new key driver cca 2000 CZK) + central door unit Brano Czech Republic (change this unit and mounting radio controled, and demounting Meta is very light, cca 40 minuts for all), but Jablotron key drivers only cca 500 (lifetime for key drivers - I use further control unit and key driver in Octavia - http://jmjm.cz/clanky-skoda-octavia-1600-bfq-dalkove-ovladani-jablotron-cl-305-click-pro-centralni-zamykani-komfortni-jednotka.php). Is only one option for electric mirrors and windows wiring. Wreckage. Here in CZ is low chance of course, that here is wrecking felicia with this wiring.

Here I recommend buy any functional in wreckage, demounting this, and change toothwheels. Made this individualy in locksmith from brass, and lifetime never ending. Plastic tooths are very poor materials for transmited motor torque moment.
