iPod dropout?

Featured Replies

I picked up our new VRS on Friday and we are very pleased with it. Fast, comfy, great looking, etc, etc.

However there seems to be an issue with the ipod playback when connected via the USB input. It randomly seems to 'jump' whilst playing music, and this happens often too.

At first I thought because I was using the normal ipod (with an internal harddrive) that the bumps in the road were making the hard drive jump, so I decided to load my music onto an old iPhone5 (which has solid memory to store the data so won't be affected by the bumps in the road), still no joy.

It is the standard headunit. Cable isn't an issue as it was brand new.

Any ideas? Is there a firmware update needed to fix the issue?

Media Codec: 2101.0.0.10

Hardware: H24

Software: 0245

Thanks in advance.

I assume I must be the only one with this issue then?

A call to Skoda will probably be in order then.

Hey,

don't get what you mean by it "jumps" while playing music, but mine sometimes get disconnected automatically and reconnects a few seconds later. Is that what you mean ?

The music seems to cut out for a fraction of a second. Doesn't sound that bad, but really annoying when it randomly happens all the time. Mine has never disconnected as such.

Dealer still can't fix this issue. Been back 7 times so far. Enough is enough. Making enquiries on what my 'rights' are re having a faulty car from new.

Hi cswrighty

I have a 2016 1.4 petrol Octavia estate and I have exactly the same issue with  my iPod music "jumping" just like the needle jumping on vinyl. It certainly is not due to the car going over bumps as it happens when the car is stationary. Have you or anyone else found out any more about this issue as it is extremely annoying.

Thanks in anticipation.

I have a similar issue with my Spotify over Bluetooth to the head unit. On some tracks it's like a needle jumping on vinyl. I have searched many forums and to date no real reason for this annoyance so far.

I only seem to play tracks that have been downloaded to my phone, not streaming off the net. I have tried deleting them and downloading them again, but it still jumps.

Really quite annoying in this day and age :dull:
