side decals , again!

Featured Replies

Directline are okay with it as long as it cost less than £250

I don't think they would look as nice without the black strip.

Why on earth would an Ins' comp be interested in side vinyl decals, on a Yeti????

So what about after market genuine Skoda Side Moldings.?

You've modified or "enhanced" the car from the factory item.

When renewing my insurance over the last few years, at the Modification section, the online configuration specifically quoted Decals/badges in the Bodywork subsection. They had to get back to me when I informed them my Proteus alloys were now powder coated instead of polished, as that was not their standard finish.

I've always declared the Optional Extras on my Octy Scout; Front Parking sensors and my Parrot phone install, as they are classed as modifications due to them not being standard equipment. I've always got, "Yeah, that's fine. That shouldn't affect anything."

A quick phonecall to your insurer, "Will fitting these decals affect my insurance?"

Once they give you their answer it is then up to you whether you fit them or not.

To me, the only risk is that you'd have to pay for replacements if damaged and you actually claimed due to the amount of damage.

In which case that'd be the least of my worries.

Unless they are hoon type decals indicating you are a risk.
