Can't see you finding many bikini car washing outfits in the UK in October, either....

Could be an indoor car wash? :D

How you supposed to get the car through the front door, silly?

Life's too short to wash your car by hand, and cold, and i live on an A-road with no driveway, but OK looks like i'll be handwashing from now on. And all because of my 'anti-theft' aerial... still i suppose its better for the paintwork so maybe its done me a favour.

Don't worry, im an idle git as well and I do put it through my local car wash - the aerial is fine in them when put in the lying down position.

not so bad putting a yellow RS through a wash as a black one perhaps?

there is a place in north manchester, the name of which escapes me at the moment, which does an amazing job on the car for a fiver. seriously, i'm pretty fussy about washing the car and i've had no cause to nitpick any of the work they've done on my cars.

Huck - there's one opened just up the road from you...just across from the lapdancing club... :p

 Dissing the yellow  Seriously, know what you mean in that the yellow does not show dirt, swirling etc much at all. I also would clarify that i only take it to one car wash near me which is a specialist car wash and does seem to do a substantially better job than the rubbish (and harsh/scratchy) jobs at service stations.

Thanks Stu thats what I wanted to know, that its OK in a car wash with the aerial flat. I also used to go to one of those ARC specialised washes and never had any problems, but now probably will handwash as have black magic pearl.

Which one's that, then, Stu? In town? (Just in case the cold weather and my laziness combine to make me want to pay someone else to wash my car. Unlikely. But possible)

Its down Broad Oak Road - opposite the BMW dealership. I think its an ARC one, as mentioned by JPreston. Good to see that Canterbury produces idle people ... or is that we have better things to do :p

Seriously though Rob, where is this handwash place?

Please can anybody tell us how to remove these aerials does the whole base need to come off for access, is there a pin or such stopping it coming right off ???

Patkin I think the concensus is that there is no way to remove these aerials, the aerial and base unit cannot be separated.

I think a couple of people have gone through washes with the aerial flat against the roof without problems, but I don't want to try it myself...

You'll be glad of that feature when the thief doesn't steal your aerial...

..... Just snaps the whole thing off in frustration
