Is my Yeti haunted?

Featured Replies

I think she has a poltergeist!!!

Three times I have found the passenger window has gone right down with no obvious reason!!  Not pressed buttons etc.  Not funny in this weather - good job a friend noticed

Anyone have any ideas?

Sprinkling salt around the area affected by Poltergeist activity is said to banish the Poltergeist and other evil spirits.

you have not sat on your key fob as pressing the open button will make the windows go down

IT

They call it the 'dark arts' don't they?.

Indeed, but there's no function to make just the passenger window go down, is there? There must be something amiss.

Maybe she didn't notice the apparition in the passengers seat..........ooooooOOOOOooooo!

Did you leave your keys beside the PC whilst it carried out a Windows update? ;)

On each occasion you found the passenger window down, did you put that particular window down prior to parking up for any reason; carried a passenger who liked the window open, stop to talk to somebody on the pavement?

My work car park has a barrier that reads your VRN, more often than nought I had to use my pass and on more occasions than I care to admit I had to walk back to my car to ensure I remembered to put the window up. Which I invariably had done!

I have had this happen once, on the driver door and the window reset cured it. The only problem it pee'd with rain that night.

There were a rash of these a while ago, and not just on Škoda but other VAG stuff. My Audi A1 and Yeti have done it, and always when it has rained. It seems to be a widely reported but unacknowledged thing.

Mine has not done it since the re-set (6+ months ago) so hopefully you will be OK now.

The really annoying thing is mine has a rain sensor which is supposed to instigate the closure of any open window if rain is detected.

However, a friend who owns a different make of car (4-wheel drive - bigger than Yeti) had a similar problem with her car.  Never really found out the reason.

^^  ooooffff thought it was you as various bits of me no longer want to work, + wrinkles etc  -  my thoughts were, 'it can't be my age'  :notme:  :D

Oh dear!  Me too!  Windows secure last night - I walked past the SM around 10.30 pm and noticed the dew.  At nine this morning the driver's window was right down.  And it had, of course, rained hard in the night.  The worst bit was finding later that the NSR passenger window had been open too, and the interior had suffered rather more.  Full re-set to synchronise the windows again, and a reminder between ourselves (her and me) to do a re-set every now and again, just in case.

Talking of poltergeists, we have an elder tree in the back garden - known to keep witches away (we haven't seen one in decades).  Wondering whether to take a cutting for nearer Annie :giggle:

had the same on two occasions on my old fabia GLII estate, always rain blowing into the side the wound the window down :-(

 Later thought...

If by accident a window is left slightly open, it won't be long before some random breeze triggers the internal alarm sensor.  How come that one or even two windows can open themselves during a blustery night without a single peep of warning?
